I just joined free republic today. Man what a great site. I'm still looking up stuff but folks tell me if I'm wrong. Al-qaeda and Saddam had more than contacts they were allies. The NY Times stated that Al-qaeda and Saddam had a collabrative relationship as they worked to undermine the Saudi Royal family. Al-Zarqawi and dozens of Al-Qaeda fighters fled Afghanistan to Iraq. Some ended up with the terrorist group Asar Al-Islam in northern Iraq. Saddam used this group to persecute the Kurds. At Salman Pak Saddam's Fedayneen trained Al-qaeda fighters in the use of chemical weapons.
Saddam was actively seeking yellow-cake uranium from Niger, that's what the British Intelligence report claims. Dr. Rice said today that Saddam was seeking equipment to restart his nuclear program. We found mass graves, two artillery shells with mustard gas one with sarin gas. The question is not whether Saddam had stockpiles of WMD's but what happened to them? And 1.7 tons of radioactive materials were removed from Iraq at the end of june. I believe 90 pounds of it was enriched uranium, that could have been used to build a dirty bomb.
Saddam Hussein gave al-qaeda a base of operations, trained them. If given time based on what we know today, saddam would have had the opportinity to give Al-Qaeda a dirty or nuclear bomb. The time to take him out was before he became an imminent threat.
I almost forgot. An opponent of the war President Putin claims Russia has intelligence that Saddam was planning future attacks against us. Well, does anyone recall the Boeing 707 at Salman Pak that the Fedayneen trained on. I believe some intelligence officals say that they were merely engaging in counter-terrorist activities. C'mon who on earth would want to hijack an Iraqi aircraft? Certainly not Al-Qaedas or Hams. Isreal would just shoot the damn jet down. We don't need anymore 9/11's. I believe Iraq was the right war at the right time. If my facts are correct, and I'm still doing my research, can anyone tell me why the President and the RNC are silent on this? Let's see some ads, let's see the Vice-President bring this stuff up in the next debate.
Again what a great site. God bless every one.
Jim

I don't know why people are fooled into believing Kerry is just a waffler, when he is an unreformed left wing antiwar fool. You are correct. The reason Kerry flip-flops is because he cannot get elected if he tells the voters what he really would do. Time for the Republican-leanning 527s to run some ads showing Kerry as the far leftie that he is.

Does anyone else find it frightening that there are so many people in this country that are buying this crap? This guy Kerry, is the most pathetic candidate that the Dems could have put forth and yet the race appears to be so close.
Perhaps things aren't always as they appear to be and President Bush will win BIG inspite of everything that's been thrown at him.

Holbrooke has got to be the most arrogant person I've seen on TV this year supporting the Dems. He is one piece of work.

You're most likely demonstrating (through example) what Kerry reffered to in the debate (last Thursday) as passing a "Global test."
Scary? Yes, you're right.

IMHO the GOP may have made a mistake by terming Kerry a flip flopper without the follow up punch that he's really a far left liberal. Totally agree. I think the flip flop idea has gotten through, but this needs to be followed up with showing how far left and dangerous Kerry's ideas are for America. The 'Global Test' ad is a start, but they need to pile it on now.

It is very scary because John Kerry is in this race! The insanity of the American populace is astounding. You know it's near the end of days. I'm just praying for four more yrs. of Bush. I know the Demonrats/liberals will eventually take over this country with the invaders adding to their vote, their skill in vote fraud(WILL THE GOP DO SOMETHING THIS ELECTION?), the control of education, media. It's really scary with all they control. I could see another Civil War breaking out really. With a John Kerry win you can assure celebrations in the streets of our terrorist enemies, you will then see the continued violence against our troops as the terrorists will at least KNOW John Kerry's record with VVAW and Senator(unlike the ignorant American populace) and they will continue to wear us down with their mind of the fact Kerry will not get the French and German help, Kerry has a record of cutting and running and being it is a 'mistake' and the talk of taking troops out-it is a disaster for our troops, period. With Bush these terrorists know we are not leaving. With Kerry you've got instability and with liberal policies, Iran and North Korea will be emboldened. The Patriot Act and liberal PC regarding racial profiling in our country(Arabs tend to be terrorists!), it will be a disaster. A Kerry election would be a celebration of the terrorists and regimes around the world because it's obvious who Kerry is.

John Kerry is totally inept and what is frightening about this is that he is only going to be a figurehead for George Soros and the Ted Kennedys of this country. The only reason he wants to be President is to satisfy his strong super ego. He is really a very weak man as demonstrated by his personal inabilities and indecisiveness. He is incapable of being a true leader. We are in major trouble in this country because of those who have no depth or understanding of the TRUE picture. People who rely on Hollywood or recording 'stars' for the decisions they make regarding the leaders of our country are going to bring us to damnation. These people are just too stupid to be free. Those of us with some insight into the gravity of this election, very unfortunately, are going to perish along with these fools. God help us all if Kerry wins (and I don't say that lightly!)
