She can still be President of the formerly important U.S.

This whole Hillary thing is totally overrated. She is a non-viable candidate.

Wouldn't that leave them with a conflict of interest? Not that it would keep them from trying! They have always pushed the envelope on the law and anything goes with them, especially if it will make them richer and more powerful.

The secretary general is formally chosen by the General Assembly. But the secretary general must first be nominated by the Security Council and win the consent of all five of its permanent members. The secretary general serves a five-year term, which may be renewed. The Security Council can nominate a candidate from any country, but it is an unwritten tradition that the position rotates geographically, with a secretary general chosen from a new region after every two terms.

much as they might love Clinton I would be shocked to see an American in that role. I don't think it could happen.

I see it this way, the Clintons want it to look like they`re supporting Kerry, they basically fired Carvell and Begala for screwing up years ago. They don`t want Kerry to win. If he wins, she won`t run in`08 he`ll be going for reelection. She likely can`t run in `12 because Edwards will have been groomed over the last 8 years, and it`ll be his turn. Unless of course Kerry administration turns out to be the unmitigated disaster we all know it`ll be, then lil`John won`t get the nomination. Here`s the plot, after whatever October surprise they leak to the Republicans, Kerry loses big time and they lead the "reformation" of the Democratic party. A kinder, gentler party of the people. Then in `08 Hell-ary wins by a landslide in the "feel-good" election of all time. We have no strong opponent for her. The U.S. becomes the U.S.S.R.ofA. and the world as we know it ends. Now where is my book deal?

So do they really LOVE the Clintons or FEAR them? They have a lot of clout and are holding onto their power any way possible. I'll bet they have dirty laundry on everyone they know--and would use it in a heartbeat to get their way.

There hasn't been a Secretary General from North America yet.

Hillary's real ambition is to become the first female president, well, unlike her first time around where she ran the Clinton administration as THE shadow president. She wants to take the oath herself.

Hillary's desire right now is to just maintain control of the democrats. A Kerry win would throw all her plans in the toilet. What better way to explain Kerry's poll numbers before and after the Clinton crew took over in his campaign?

HILLARY NEEDS FOR KERRY TO LOSE

Otherwise, Kerry takes control of the party and she is $#!+ outta luck leading up to 2008.

Under UN bylaws the Secretary General may not be from a country with a seat on the Security Council. Accordingly, for Clinton to fufill his aspiration, the US would have to lose it's permanent seat.

Or..........Clinton obtains citizenship in Ireland or Scotland (I forget where his ancestors came from) and with dual citizenship claim eligibility.

I think renouncing his (Clinton's) citizenship would be going too far, even for the Slick One. This would damage any chance Hillary had for President -- and I think that is the priority.

I don't Edwards getting elected statewide in North Carolina again. If/when Kerry loses, Edwards' political career is over. He goes back to suing OB/Gyn's.

I agree, Edwards was a one race horse in N.C. I don`t necessarily agree about it being over for him though. He`s only 51 and has half of a billion dollars in the bank. Just like a bad penny he`ll turn up somewhere. Let`s keep hoping voter fraud isn`t as rampant as we`re hearing, otherwise we`ll have 4 years of him. Voter registration up to 98% in Philadelphia? Come on.... Voter registration in Hamilton Co., OH higher than census says there are eligible voters? (104%!!!) 46,000 registered voters in NY/FLA have dual citizenship 68% democrat.

Your summation is right on the mark. Hillary has one and only one shot at the presidency, and that's in 2008. Bill and Hillary aren't playing second fiddle to anyone in the Democratic Party, and especially to two lightweights like Kerry and Edwards. They want to go back to the White House and one way or another they will sabotage the Kerry campaign. Everyone who says Hillary has no shot at the presidency better think again. If you think the media bias for Kerry is bad just wait and see what happens when Hillary becomes the Democratic nominee in 2008. Say what you want about those two, but they're still the biggest names in the Democratic Party, and if Hillary were the nominee this year I think she would have a better shot than Kerry to win. A Kerry presidency ends Hillary's chances, so why would they allow that to happen?

That's what I don't understand. Why is it that I keep reading that Hillary doesn't want Kerry/Edwards to win, but at the same time, there is an enormous voter fraud push by the Dems? To me, this doesn't make sense.
