Ronald Reagan routinely wore a bullet-proof vest, too. Liberals are idiots, there's no other explanation for stuff like this.
Haven't looked at Salon since they started charging.
those new bullet proof vests do show once in a while - he was slumping forward and it shows the to of the back of the vest.
Can anyone who's said yep to this, verify that they know enough about bullet-proof vests to say with authority that's what it was? I want to be sure before I brave the pinkos at work tomorrow night......
There have been a rash of attacks at Republican offices nation-wide (getting little splash in the press compared to what similar attacks on the Demonrats would bring)so it's not at all surprising that extra precautions are in order.
Bullet Proof Vest
I believe that enyone familiar with television would recognize that as a battery/antenna pack. These support a lapel mike and are used to avoid a lot of wires and other paraphernalia. Nothing mysterious here at all.
I can't believe all these left-wing media fruit baskets don't recognize this.
I'm sure there are a lot more threats against the Pres. than we'll ever know, I'm relieved to see he is wearing a bullet proof vest!
If Bush needed to be wired with a receiver, why would it be a 1970's Realistic/RadioShack wear on your back model? There are very simple digital receivers that are no bigger than a hearing aid.
The people that are an audience to this sort of nonsense are the same people that thought Bush should have lept to his feet in Florida and charged out of the classroom upon hearing about the second plane. They have no idea about the security surrounding the President and how things work, nor apparently do they care. He pitched the game in NYC after 9/11 wearing a vest. I doubt he takes it off in public.
Remember, John Effin' said that he couldn't bring that gift rifle to the debate ... but who can ever believe him?
Salon's still up? Hmmm. Who knew? Their stock has been flatlined for a while.
The battery packs for the lav mikes are clipped at the beltline in back. I think that's a vest.
I didn't know about trauma plates - thanks!
It is an alien controller, remember the "Puppet Masters".
It's pretty clearly the tab of a bullet-proof vest where the ends are velcroed together.
Seems like Salon gets their information from the loonies over at the Daily Kos
IMO .. if I was to take a guess .. since there were 11 anthrax scares just hours before the debate
I'm thinking he may have been wearing a Vest
Chanelling is exclusively the domain of John Edwards who, in his stint as a trial lawyer, would act as a medium to the spirt world and channelled from his victims to the juries he was attempting to sway.
