Your internet bargains are a classic example of free trade in action. The alternative to free trade being protectionism (tariffs, controls).
Protection makes sense for certain sensitive sectors (e.g. Defence) but leads to unviable, featherbedded industries that eventually become a charge on the state.
Another nice feature about the internet, outside of allowing us to discuss this topic, is that it defeats the likes of Willie Green, 2banana and Pat Buchanan and their attempts to undermine the free market.
