Shadow War, a just-released Regnery book by New York Times best-selling author Richard Miniter, claims the mullahs in Iran are harboring Osama Bin Laden. The claim is based on the testimony of two Iranian intelligence officials who say they saw bin Laden alive and well -- in Iran!
"According to these two sources, bin Laden no longer resembles the picture that the FBI has put on its wanted posters. He has trimmed his beard to fit the more traditional look of a Shi’ite cleric and he seemed to have put on weight, according to intelligence officials….” Miniter’s sources claim bin Laden is constantly on the move, “shuttling from Iranian safe houses controlled by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard to areas of Afghanistan controlled by the Iranian-backed warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar."
Why would Iran harbor one of the world’s most notorious terrorists and risk the wrath of the West?
"Choopan [one of the intelligence sources] gives three reasons. First, the Iranians believe they can keep bin Laden’s presence a secret and plausibly deny it if publicly accused. Second, the mullahs are feeling increasingly threatened by the War on Terror. The mullahs, Choopan says, fear a counter-revolution and see bin Laden’s fighters as tools they can use to ensure the failure of these young democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan and the survival of mullah-dominated Iran. Finally, they share enemies, including many Arab leaders, the United States, and the rest of the Western world."

I've been saying this for years. He would not continue to hide in Afghanistan or Pakistan when he could obtain sanctuary in Iran. Our government probably knows it, too. They just don't want to admit it because then they'd have to do something about it.
Impossible. Democrats insist he`s kept in Dick Cheneys basement and will be brought out a month before the election..oh wait, make that 3 weeks before the election.

Mansoor Ijaz has been saying this for a long time. Even says the same thing about how Bin Laden has changed his appeareance. I suspect that they're right.
I kind of expect the attack on Iran to commence on November 3.
Wasn't/isn't bin Laden 6 foot six inches or something like that, uncommonly tall?
I'm reading it right now. It lays out exactly how Bush was put into this mess by Clinton (e.g., the outgoing administration didn't in-brief the incoming administration until the end of December, not the beginning of November, and apparently half-assed it when they did; the Clinton Administration's Visa Express program let in several of the hijackers even though they would have been denied entry if immigration officials had reviewed their applications).
One fact I found absolutely amazing--Bush's widely reported comments about Clinton's attempts at nabbing Bin Laden as "swatting flies" and how he "didn't want to launch a million-dollar cruise missile into a tent to hit a camel in the butt" were made BEFORE 9/11. Bush had asked for a thorough review of all intelligence about terrorist threats, including the possibility of attacks carried out from inside the U.S. Even though most of his appointments hadn't even been confirmed by 9/11, Bush was still trying to jump-start the hunt for Bin Laden before September 11th.
All I keep thinking while I'm reading it is, this is the President the media wants us to believe should not get a second term?
Bin Laden may be in Iran, but only curtesy of a taxidermist or else in an urn.
osama is not in afghanistan nor in pakistan where most of lietenants are either dead or captured. OBL is iran where he has made an angreement in return for nukes. Zarqawi, al qeada getting orders from the mullahs in iran. the insurgency bought and paid by iran. Iran is also working with N Korea to rapidly acquire nukes by the end of the year. evidence rapid timeline from shahab 1 to enhanced shahab 3 and working on intercontinental shahab 4. just connect the dots. all of this is in news if you look for it. oh by the way saddams chem/bio went to syria on Feb 2003 and his nuke program was in Lybia.
If OBL is 'being taken care of' then shouldn't we be getting a lot of voice tapes circulating world-wide, at least?
