House Republican leaders say the immigration reforms in their intelligence overhaul bill will remain, despite prodding by Senate Republicans and the White House to delete the provisions. The bill calls for a crackdown on driver's licenses for illegal aliens, easier deportations and limits on the use of foreign consular identification cards. The White House initially signed off on these provisions, which House leaders and some September 11 family members endorsed.

GOOD! IT IS ABOUT TIME THIS GOVERNMENT GOT TOUGH AND STARTED TAKING CARE OF THIS COUNTRY --- INSTEAD OF FREAKIN' LAWBREAKING ILLEGAL ALIENS!!!!!!
YES!!!
What about the national chip implant for all legal citizens? Does that stay?
The Matricula card stealth amnesty is a major part of Bush's Hispandering. I'll believe the White House is OK with this bill when it's signed into law.
Good!!!!!!!!!!!
About damn time the Republicans started protecting America instead of worrying what people WHO WILL NEVER VOTE FOR THEM think.
I wish Cheney were President so he could tell the whole Dimmocrat Party to go f' itself.
Of course, this will not make it through the Senate. The Dems and RINOs want illegal aliens to be able to vote...once again, I say that we need one nationalized computer system that allows only one vote per social security number. No social, no vote. And photo ID to prove who you are.
better yet, tattoo them with glow in the dark ink so border patrol agents can find their dead or dying carcasses in the desert..
You are so mean spirited, in your WRONG plan, how would the largest demographic be able to vote when that group is the DEAD.
Excellent news! They didn't go soft like the WH.
Keep those faxs & emails flying FReepers!
I agree. I don't understand the Pubbies. Everyone I talk to here in Kerry Kuntry (MA) I hear the same thing, we don't want ILLEGAL aliens in this country. This is a winner issue! I could win election to congress running on this issue only. I can't understand why the Pubbies aren't using this issue to A. hammer the Demoncrats and B. Why they aren't solidly behind stopping ILLEGAL immingration.
Now if only Bush would get the message...
It will be amazing if we get anything good lke this passed and even more amazing if it gets enforced.
I agree that this will never make it all the way through without being totally gutted of course "after" the election.
Because the majority of Hispanics aren't solidly behind stopping illegal immigration, and they are now the largest minority group in the country. Because big business doesn't want illegal immigration to stop, since their cheap labor market would disappear. Because truly stopping illegal immigration would be astronomically expensive, and money wasted for seniors' prescription drugs generates so much more political capital.
Because the majority of Hispanics aren't solidly behind stopping illegal immigration,
I disagree, the Polls I've seen of "LEGAL" Hispanics has shown that they are against ILLEGAL immimgration. They went through the legal process they feel that their fellow Hispanics should be subject to the same process.
"What about the national chip implant for all legal citizens? Does that stay?"
laugh, Not needed..... the proposed law would be however for foreign visitors to implant in their head that our laws are going to be followed; legal residents are not affected or have to change.
For example if the bill can pass, a passport will be required for ID to set up bank accounts, not phony consular identification cards which can be used now and bought on the streets of Los Angles under any alias.
They bill would outlaw states issuing drivers license to citizens of other countries thereby keeping them from being allowed to vote in our elections, since as it stands now, federal law requires a voter to be given voter registration when receiving a new drivers license.
So why is he acting this way?
"So why is he acting this way?"
must have been a back room deal we need their oil, they want our welfare. Only thing; had we have known, we might as well told them to just stay home and we would build nuclear power plants instead with much less damage to our state environment as a result.
