FactCheck is wrong!
Oil and Gas blind trust. Not lumber. In a blind trust, a money manager is given complete discretion for investment decisions and the beneficiary isn't informed of the holdings.

84 Lumber is the real name of a chain of building supply stores. Strange that the dollar figure is 84? www.84lumber.com

Aren't the President's investments in a blind trust or something? He may not even know that he has an investment in a wood business but it would be on his tax return which is public.
I think, from the comment, that Bush must own stock in an S Corporation and it made him $84 dollars. Kerry was trying to say that the President was a small business owner using that as an indicator.

But this makes no difference. If President Bush had a lemonade stand and made 84 bucks he could call himself a small business owner and it's not like there is a difference on your tax return or anything like that.

where in the heck did Kerry come up with that lie anyway!!!
It's all in the PLAN. The PLAN will bring peace, and a whiter smile to all who embrace the PLAN!

It probably is one of those "pad clearing" operations as you said, BF. I don't think most people will find it possible to care less than they do now, after such a trivial item is explained by the sKerry camp.
The greatest part of that foolish comment is that it truly gave our President an opportunity to play to the audience. It will be remembered as a shining minute in a very dull period. What a great smile Bush has! That comment really made him loveable, and no amount of fact checking of some $84 line on a tax statement four years ago is going to help sKerry out of the glow that will continue long after people try to analyze the facts.
Bush wins BIG TIME on this incident.

(BUSH 2004 - NEED SOME WOOD???)
To: Registered
I think Dubya sewed up the Election in that short 10 second exchange.
When "Need some wood?" came out of his mouth I shouted GAME SET MATCH!!! In that small show of humor Bush defined the entire election -- John kerry is a lying liberal scumbag politician who will say anything to get elected.
My very apolitical wife heard the exchange, looked at me and said "well, kerry just killed himself."

The real credit goes to someone on the live thread last night who suggested the quote should go with that picture (but it flew by so fast, I couldn't find it again to see who it was).
Since I am the keeper of all photographs, I just stuck the text on and posted it.
I think it's a keeper, though. :o)

Well, FrankenKerry got a good butt-whippin from Dubya at the
wood
shed, no wonder President Bush has a lumber company. B-D He'll need more wood, the Horseface and Silky Pony will be put out to pasture after the election. Fences and barns take a lot of wood ya know. B-) Go Dubya, I have faith in you and in winning the election. Anyhoo, anyone that would vote for Horseface has their head up their butt.
