I have said this multiple times already -- but the "need some wood" moment has defined this election. I fully believe that.

John Kerry LOST this election with that exchange.

Mr & MRs Joe Sixpack , I garauntee, sat there and went "WTF??? $*4 makes him a small business? What is this moron blabbering about?"

Bush then followed that with a home run --his incredulous tone was absolutely perfect "I own a timber company? That's news to me. Need some wood?"

Right at that point John Kerry was DEFINED as a whiney say anything to get elected pompous liberal LIAR!

Bush then capped that moment later in the debate with the equally memorable - "you can run, but you can't hide"

GW had the crowd laughing at Kerry last night. Kerry probably thought they were laughing with him.

I didn't know what Bush meant by "need some wood." I don't get it. A joke?
