Michael Moore and his liberal backers are working on a deal to have his Bush-bashing conspiracy movie "Fahrenheit 9/11" piped into millions of households just days before the election.
Citing "TV sources," the Hollywood newspaper Variety said that In Demand, the largest pay-per-view distributor in the U.S., was planning to air "Fahrenheit" at 8 p.m. on election eve - just hours before the polls open all across America. But there may be a hitch. Reports the New York Post's Page Six, Columbia TriStar, which released the "Fahrenheit" DVD last week, has the right to block any small-screen broadcast while the DVD is in distribution.
Still, Moore's camp is apparently undeterred by any legal technicalities. A source close to Moore and Miramax's Harvey and Bob Weinstein - who bankrolled the anti-Bush flick - told the Post they plan to have the movie hit TV before the first ballot is cast.
"It's true. All this is being talked about," the source said, noting that Moore himself said last month he hoped the "Fahrenheit" would hit the small screen in time to impact the election.
Moore even yanked his conspiracy masterpiece out of contention for the Oscars so it could be shown on TV.
It turns out, however, that he may have some competition.
The Sinclair Broadcast Group has announced plans to air the documentary "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal" - which details John Kerry's anti-war protests and the effect they had on U.S. POWs who say their North Vietnamese captors turned his words against them.
"Honor" is set to air before Moore's film, sometime between Oct. 21 and Oct. 24 depending on the city, the Los Angeles Times said Saturday.
The upstart TV network reaches viewers in 62 markets around the country, including Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas and Sacramento - along with a number of swing states.
The Times said Sinclair is ordering its stations to pre-empt local programing to air the Kerry documentary, a move that drew criticism from the Kerry campaign.
"It's not the American way for powerful corporations to strong-arm local broadcasters to air lies promoting a political agenda," said Kerry spokesman David Wade.
But it is OK to show "fahrenheit 9/ll". What a bunch of a*s holes.
Since when have the 'Rats been "...deterred by any legal technicalities?" Remember His Slickness and Election 2000?
Monica just snapped her thong and Clod said, "I'll have me some of that."
Last I knew, Sinclair owns & operates their stations, so the local management has no say in programming - they do what they're told by corporate, or they get a new job.
Dems called for a boycott of Sinclair advertisers

Wouldn't this be a violation of the campaign finance laws?

This sounds like it would be worth watching. Wonder if they can get it broadcast out here on the West Coast?
HA!!!!
Sinclair owns a station in Flint, Home of Michael Moron!
Go to his link...

And tell your local station that you want to see the Anti-Kerry Movie!
Sinclair deserves a thank you FReep!
See post #7 to check for a station near you!
Who cares, the movie is so ridiculous that maybe it will even drive some sympathy votes to Bush. Besides, maybe the Rats will be so mesmorized by their Rasputin that they'll stay home, watch their cheesy movie and forget to vote.
Cool - Two stations in Missouri KC and St.Louis
I would add, does anyone really think anyone who wants to watch the movie is waiting for it to come out on Comcast On Demand video to see it? Forget about it. It is old news.
We need to call these people immediately to try and force them to show "Farenhype 9-11" before or after Moore-on's propaganda piece...we need phone numbers, fax numbers, etc and must start ASAP.
Remember....we (FreeRepublic) got See B.S. to pull that crap Reagan mini-series last November with this tactic.
Once again, Michael Moore proves that he is America's # 1 War Profiteer. Can you imagine the reaction to the Swiftboat Vets if they were only in it for the money?
"team america" takes care of michael moore...he is EX_POSED as the socialist fraud he is!!!
Oh shoot, none in Arizona. I'd love to see Stolen Honor.
Fox broadcast channel should hook up with Farenhype 9/11 to show it immediately before and after F9/11 airs.
Does anyone believe that many people will shell out the bucks for his crap on the night before the election?
In Demand is a cable operated venture. I will say this, if I were a cable subscriber I would email my cable provider and In Demand like crazy about this.
I would threaten to switch to DIRECTV or DISH (preferably DIRECTV as that's a Rupert Murdoch organization). I would push this HARD.
This is absolute crap they would put this on the air knowing all of the lies about this movie.
That is what I was thinking...GMTA... Anyone have any hard data on this?
