For twenty years, the Senator has embraced a succession of hare-brained initiatives including the "nuclear freeze," cuts in American nuclear programs and their delivery systems and the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty.
The difference may be summarized as that between Sen. Kerry's orthodoxy of the Left - with its reliance on arms control treaties and "carrots" in the form of agreements with would-be proliferators, affording them access to nuclear information and materials
Perhaps no other answer more demonstrates how unfit for the Presidency John Kerry is. It was a shocking look into what all his "Secret plans" would be. John Kerry has exposed himself as the quintessential 1970s man, who's world view has not evolved one iota from then. For Kerry, 9-11 was just an abnormality, a one off thing, that does not require any adjustment or rethinking of his ideological world view.
Sen. Kerry said in the debate that "It doesn't make sense" for "the United States to pursue a new set of nuclear weapons" including "bunker-busting" ones. He declared "I am going to shut that program down" in order to "make it clear to the world we're serious about containing nuclear proliferation."
