Promiscuous sex with the same gender causes AIDS...it does not promote life.
AIDS isn't "caused," it's spread. And promiscuous sex does NOT inherently spread disease. Promiscuous condomless man-man sodomy spreads AIDS very quickly, but promiscuous man-man oral sex or pretty much any form of woman-woman sex generally won't spread AIDS, at all.
Promiscuous sex causes the transmission of AIDS, not just promiscuous same gender sex....
I don't care what people do in their own homes of their own free will--a conservative viewpoint that is shocking to some conservatives, for some reason. The government has not right to judge what people do there...AND those people have no right to expect me to subsidize what they do there.
All that aside, if gays were to appreciate the value of the unborn, that'd be a bodyblow to the Democrats's "All Abortion, All The Time" platform position.
This is an issue that draws out people on both sides -
I don't see how backing marriage as being between a man and a woman is saying anything other than that is the tradition this country has and has had for over 100 years and why should it change now just to please one group and their view of how things should be.
Too much of America's culture has been destroyed already - just to please one group or the other.

A culture of life will equal a culture of respect for all. With that culture of life, and respect, we may someday once again realize that a woman, pregant by a man, is not a crime against the environment, but a gift from God for all people.
Without that culture of life, you see more and more population control programs that portray pregnant women as to be avoided at all costs; these programs push that the way to avoid pregnancies is through "better" alternative lifestyle choices. They are already pushing in many population control forums.
Children are not a crime against the environment, and heterosexuality should not be seen as a threat to the earth. If Life receives support from these gay men and women, then it means that they are taking a stand on the side of life and good. Anyone who stands on the side of life should be praised for that choice...

That's why they have roughly the same infection rate as monogamous, straight and juvenile hemophiliacs -- and recipients of "free" medical care in Africa and other prime spots for Depopulation -- who likewise relied on tainted blood derivatives.
I don't think you can blame a 90% infection/death rate among hemophiliacs in this nation on "gay sex."
I'm well aware that it is "spread." Playing gymnastic linguistics to prove a point is a fruitless exercise except by a blogger who wants to feel self-important by correcting others.
That being said, AIDS has hit gays hardest in the U.S. To associate their lifestyle with being "pro-life" is absurd. It is a culture of death.
With regard to the specific acts leading to the transmission, I'll defer to your "expertise." I will note that promiscuous heterosexual sex had not transmitted AIDS at a rate remotely approaching that of homosexual activity.
Not at the same rate within the U.S. If it did, Clinton would never have survived to be President.

I basically agree with you, but on the other hand I think, What's the harm? How does gay marriage affect me? I couldn't care less what gays do, and if all the gays in the world got married it wouldn't change my straight life one bit. Let them do what they want and then they can shut up about it.
I just met a gay male couple who adopted a baby boy who was born addicted to drugs and whom no one wanted. I think that is marvelous. Now he has a family to love him. I live in a place with a high gay population and knowing these people and my previous gay friends, I am very accepting of them as people deserving dignity and not scorn.
Conservative, family-oriented gays do not have sick agendas like the activists. They hate them as conservative blacks hate Jesse Jackson.
Several of you who scorn gays all the time on FR are Christians. Would Jesus have scorned gays? Didn't he try to show respect to every one of G-d's children, sinners or not?
I don't know (and don't care) if Matt Drudge is gay, but he has a profound respect for life. As does Al Rantel. Tammy Bruce is not quite there yet but she is conservative on most social values. These outspoken conservatives should open some of your minds. We should welcome all kinds to our side.
I'm not a Christian. However, I will state that most comments are critical of the gay lifestyle, not the people. I'd guess that would fall into the "hate the sin, love the sinner" arena, wouldn't it?
You've got it backwards; the burden of proof is on those proposing the theory. Since zero studies have found that sexual perversions are genetic, and hundreds indicate sexual perversions are learned, nurtured or the result of child abuse, the burden of proof is on the proponents.
Well - see - you take their actions differently than I do - and I mean the action of throwing this up now - and using it as one way to divide this nation.

Why does one belief have to be done away with - just to please another. Leave the term marriage alone. As far as I'm concerned they can call their union anything they want - other than a term that means -and has meant - something to so many people for over a 100 years.
Are they content with any other term - no - and you must ask why -
Because they want to destroy everything in the American culture -

A man, man - or - woman, woman - can use another term, they don't have to destroy anyone else's belief that way -

The judgemental attitude toward gays as sick here does offend me. I can't read the insults and think of my dear lesbian friend as she suffers from liver cancer, for example. My brain goes "does not compute." I do hate prejudice.
Pro life has a place in God's heart. Homosexuality had its place in Sodom and Gomorrah.
Here's what Jesus might have said:
For God commanded, saying, if a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
But ye say, ye are born queer and it is a gift;
