Wasn't Club for Growth's Stephen Moore that wrote the article about this? I think The Godfather was reading from it today, but I could be mistaken.

I will be contacting Steven Moore of the Club for Growth.

I would use clips from Kerry's latest TV commercial where he talks about the rich not paying their fair share. Then I'd put out the data - the Kerry's paid 12.8% of their income. Then I'd show two or three middle class families, mention their income and what their percentage was.

It would be a killer ad.

Last night I did some quick "what if's" on TurboTax, for several middle class families and sent the ad idea and data to the Club for Growth.

Sounds like they were ahead of me. This morning I got an email from them that said:

You might get what you wished for. Stay tuned...

IMO Kerry is the weirdest man to run for the top ticket since Nixon.

I never found Nixon especially weird.
He was a bit paranoid
with good reason.
Who wouldn't be paranoid in his position?
Basically
he was a reserved man
who hated having to put on a tortured exuberance
for his public appearances.
I can sympathize with that.
He swore a bit too much for my tastes.
Otherwise I think he was OK.

If I recall correctly, when you file state income taxes in Massachusetts you can volunteer to pay a higher rate. (No really, I'm serious). I'd love to know if Kerry & Fat Teddy pay at the higher rate.

Well, it's better than being FORCED to pay the higher rate.

As an aside, I went to Kerry's web site (had to use the emergency eye wash station after, yuck) to see if I could find his Mass. returns. No luck, but I did notice that where his returns require him to fill out the full name of his spouse, that it's is just Teresa Heinz. Not "Heinz-Kerry"

IIRC, she was not using "Kerry" until after the nomination. Strange.

That is correct. Several years ago the rate was reduced. Some folks complained. So they provided the option for those who wished, to pay at the old, higher rate. Not many people exercise that option.

Kerry definitely does not pay at the higher rate. His staff has so announced. As for Kennedy, I'm sure that you can guess. Neither he nor any other Kennedy has ever, ever released a tax return.

If your paying that much, you need a financial advisor. Like the Kerry's and most wealthy folks, you should take advantage of the tax breaks available to you.

On the other hand, while there is nothing wrong with Kerry doing so, it is the height of hypocrisy for him to squawk about "tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans." Of course, he can always pay more than he owes if he feels that he is not paying what he should.

Instituting wage and price controls was a weird action to take, I think.

Remember Nixon's enemies list?

His personally redesigning the white house guards uniforms to look like 19th European Imperial uniforms?

Oh, but let's not forget Kerry's salary for being in the Senate - right at about 200K - there's that magic number from the second debate.

My wife and I were talking about all the wealth that is in the Senate and the House and came up with a good rule... If you are worth more than a few million bucks you should not get paid for your term as a legislator. Besides their salary they get a pension equal to that after just two terms if I am not mistaken.

Brit is going out of his way to not go after his friend kerry. This issue of how much taxes the kerry's pay are not election campaign resonators.
