Make sure you get permission to do so from the producers (which I'm sure they would give you) to avoid copyright infringement liability.

On the FR main page, scroll down and look on the left hand side of the page until you see "Chapters/Alliances"...then click on "State Pages"...a list will pop up and you can see a fair-sized group of people from your state...If you don't get a response from your post, you can freepmail these people to improve your chances of meeting up with someone to help you. Good luck!

I wouldn't recommend "We Were Soldiers...and Young." I liked both the movie and the book, but General Moore is a little too anti-war for my tastes. I think he has grown more pacifist with age. His co-writer Joe Galloway, a newsman, is probably as bad.

He shows entirely too much personal(not professional) respect for the NVA officer's he fought against at Na Drang. He takes an almost, "we are old enemies who can now be friends" attitude that is not warranted. The NVA was brutal and vicious to the point of being evil. They deserve NO respect except the respect of recognizing they were a determined foe. In my opinion, I would like to round up every senior NVA and Cong officer and put them to the sword. We should not have abandoned South Vietnam - it was the Cronkhite's and Kerry's at home that caused this.

Also, the movie only depicts the first half of the battle where Moore's battalion (1rst of the 7th) was holding off an NVA attack. When they left Na Drang, they were relieved by the 2nd of the 7th which was slaughtered by the NVA moving from LZ X-ray - the attrocities committed on our troops by the NVA are unforgiveable.. Moore documents this in his book.

A good book to read, but don't fall was General Moore's later in life pacifism (as I perceived it). The movie is entertaining, but not exactly historically correct - at least it truncated history.

Personally, I think the night before the election is too late. Many will have already voted absentee. If the programs raise questions about Kerry, there's no time to prod him into signing the 180.

I think if you have the films, tapes, whatever, it would be a good idea to share/loan them to college Young Republicans to show on campuses. Or if they're available on DVD, they could be shown on laptops in college residences and greek houses, favorite watering holes, etc., night after night.

I don't know if they available to buy anywhere, but if they are, all you parents of college students need to get a copy and send it off ASAP.

Just my thoughts.

I think this is a great idea! Please put me on your ping list or FReepmail me as things develop.

I'll bring the Kleenex. The week before my son went into the Marines he took me to see "We Were Soldiers Once". It was a matinee and we were the only two in the theatre (thank heaven). All those young men on the screen seemed so much like my son and reminded me of my brother (who survived Viet Nam) and two friends who didn't. I have never cried so much during a movie.
