Kerry Campaign: Sinclair 'Better Hope We Don't Win'
If John Kerry wins the presidential election three weeks from today, the Sinclair television network had better watch out, a Kerry campaign press aide warned on Tuesday.
"Listen - they better look out there at Sinclair Broadcasting," campaign spokesman Chad Clanton threatened, as the controversy around Sinclair's decision to broadcast a documentary about Kerry's anti-Vietnam War protests continued to heat up.
"I'm not a lawyer, but they've stirred up a lot of hatred," Clanton continued to rail on Fox News Channel's "Dayside with Linda Vester."
"We've got thousands of people now very mad, jackballed up - calling these [Sinclair] stations, protesting, threatening boycotts of their sponsors," he claimed.
"I think they're going to regret doing this," the Kerry spokesman warned before adding - "They better hope we don't win."
When asked if he meant his words as a threat, Clanton told Vester no.
But hours later, after top talk radio host Rush Limbaugh aired a tape of the exchange, he said Clanton's comments sounded to him like "a big threat" to retaliate if Kerry wins the White House.

It was a threat, then he backtracked. Rush was funny today with the word "jackballed." So, the aide was saying that Kerry's supporters are dum(sic) and getting dumber!

Why don't the people speaking for Sinclair remind their viewers that Kerry said he was PROUD of his activities. This is a film about his own actions. They are freaking out. Could this be the October surprise?
I saw the interview with the producer, not to worry about Sinclair backing down guys.

I don't see how Sinclair could ever even be worried. We heard all those reports earlier about Moore's trash being shown on election eve. Just because Sinclair is showing the truth for free and the moore lies are pay-per-view doesn't make any difference. IMHO anyway

I read you statement today about Sinclair Broadcasting. And it was read in the context that YOU FAILED TO ISSUE ANY STATEMENT when CBS violated not only the public trust, but many FCC Rules and Regulations by deliberately broadcasting false and deceptive information in an attempt to unseat a sitting President with KNOWN FALSIFIED DOCUMENTS. A deliberate attempt to mislead the public using the public airwaves.
As you know this is ILLEGAL. It is also politically motivated as was your comment. As such, I feel you should resign your position due to extreme political bias and for misleading the public with your obviously biased statement as well as your ommission of any comment on the law breaking activities of CBS. The American public deserves unbiased support of its media.
