U.S. investigates Iraq nuclear theft

NEW YORK — U.S. officials yesterday said they would look into a report that radioactive material and sophisticated equipment had disappeared from Iraq's nuclear power and research facilities, but expressed confidence that such dangerous materials are now secure. In a letter to the U.N. Security Council on Monday, Mohamed El Baradei the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warned that whole buildings had suffered "systematic dismantlement" and that sensitive equipment previously subject to U.N. verification and monitoring had disappeared.

Hm....do I smell a conspiracy here. Wasn't Kerry mentioning that Bush did not guard the nuclear plants?

Now, it appears nuclear equipment has disappeared. When did this happen? Has there been a well placed phone call to the French, then to contacts inside the Iraq "insurgency"?

Nothing is too far-fetched for these power-crazed dems.

We removed a bunch of stuff about 6 months ago. It was in the news. We removed it without U.N. permission so maybe they are making a stink about it now. It was about 1000 pounds of radioactive "yellow cake."
