"You're observing the same type of locker room talk that took place in 9th - 12th grade. Don't take it too seriously."
As the mother of a son who is entering into his teen years, I wasn't taking this conversation too seriously until I read your remark. We are no longer in the locker room as 9th - 12th graders....we are supposed to be adults and we are supposed to be capable of recognizing what is right and what is wrong.
I'm not sure I understand your post.
My whole point was that you SHOULDN'T take what is being said too seriously because it is being said 'tongue in cheek' based on past experiences. How did my pointing that out 'cause you to take this conversation seriously'?
The whole thrust of my original post in a nutshell:
Do the posters on this forum believe that teachers be having sex with students? NOOOOOO it is wrong!!!
Do 9-12 graders fantasize about it from time to time? YES!!! (except for me because of the whole hairy wart thing)
Were the posters mimicking locker room talk, based on their understanding (through life experience) of what many 9-12 graders wish would happen? YES!! IT WAS SILLYNESS! I'm sorry if you can't recognize it that way.
We ARE adults capable of recognizing right from wrong. Sorry if all the "wink-wink" talk threw you for a loop.
