We need to be careful about reaching conclusions about "Shoveit's" effective tax rate. As I understand the facts (and I could be wrong) the calculation arriving at that rate is only based upon the amount of estimated tax payments they had previously paid to the IRS, and she has not yet filed her tax return. If her actual tax turns out to be much higher, she will have to pay aditional $$$$ to the IRS and her effective tax rate would be much higher. Alternately, her actual tax could even be LOWER than the amount already paid, resulting in an even lower effective tax rate.
