Elizabeth Edwards is blasting Second Lady Lynne Cheney for objecting to John Kerry calling her daughter "a lesbian" during Wednesday night's presidential debate.
In the ugliest outburst yet in the Kerry-lesbian contretemps, the woman who wants to replace Mrs. Cheney told ABC Radio network news Thursday morning, "I think that [Mrs. Cheney's complaint] indicates a certain degree of shame with respect to her daughter's sexual preferences."
While praising Mrs. Cheney as "a wonderful advocate" for her daughter in the past, Mrs. Edwards said Mrs. Cheney had "overreacted" last night when she called Kerry "not a good man" for publicly identifying her daughter Mary as a lesbian.
The second lady also called Kerry's comments "a cheap and tawdry political trick."
Mrs. Edwards said that Mrs. Cheney's decision to go public with her objections was "a sad state of affairs."

Geez.... By the Dems standard, Liz Edwards would have been "fair game" if the subject of obesity had come up in last night's debate.

The Edwards family apparently has absolutely no sense of shame or humility.

What kind of man can within the span of a single sentence
quote scripture, commit heresy, and advertise the sins of
another to the entire planet?

If you want to see a "sad state of affairs, Mrs. Edwards, you have to look no further than your husband. God help us if this dispicable crowd of vermin occupy the White House.

Wow...Well, at least John's not the Edwards with the most outlandish public statement anymore...

So Liz, does John E. have a little of the McGreevy thing going on the side? I mean, you're not exactly an alluring siren, but he's always grinning. Hmmmmm?

Perhaps Mrs. Edwards would have felt differently if the President made some gratuitous remark concerning her dead son. After all, we all know he died. Then if she objected to the reference it would be because she is ashamed he is dead? Please!

I can't believe these people. A candidate's children should be off limits. Period. Lynne Cheney has every right to be upset that her daughter was used as a political tool by both Kerry and Edwards. And I would feel the same way about a Republican that resorted to such tactics.

The second lady also called Kerry's comments "a cheap and tawdry political trick." Mrs. Edwards' comments further illustrate what Lynne meant by "cheap and tawdry."
