Plan of Russian oil pipeline soon to be unveiled, Russian ambassador
People's Daily ^ | 12 October 2004

Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit China from October 14 to 16. At a press conference held Sunday, Russian Ambassador to China Igor Rogachev said that Russia has decided to strengthen cooperation with China on large-scale projects to raise the level of economic coordination. He also revealed that the long brewing plan of Russia-China oil pipeline would be unveiled in a few months. Facing close questions from the press, Rogachev answered cleverly that why not wait for another few months for the final result since we have been waiting for ten years? According to agreements reached between high-ranking officials of the two militaries, Russia and China will conduct joint military drills next year, Sergei N. Goncharov, minister-counselor of the Russian Embassy in China, confirmed at the press conference.

I think we should create a "Trans-Global Highway/Railway" linking the continental US to Alaska and then across to Siberia, and across all the way to St. Petersburg, combined with a free trade agreement. Bring Russia into the fold, shut out old Europe, create thousands of jobs, and gain an oil partner.

If it's worth doing, let some private company do it. Or start the company yourself. "We" as in the U.S. government, don't need to do it. Right now, oil prices are growing enough that some of the old, more expensive production areas will be brought back online. And the prices will encourage companies who produce products that are oil and electricity efficient to do even better.

Look at how the Prius hybrid has taken off. Just watch for more like that.

Has anyone else noticed that Russia is putting in many oil
lines and making many oil deals?

Could it be that the country that controls the oil, will control the world?

I keep reading about Russia and her oil lines, No, I can't name all the countries, but Ukraine is one, there is one to
Turkey from the 1960 era, I think I read the other day that
they have or want one in Chechnya.

Finding the oil lines was not a search that I did, but rather odd facts that stick with one.

There is no doubt that the Chinese want to exploit the resources in Siberia. My guess (as written about in the Dragon's Fury Series) was that to begin with Russia would work out some economic accord with them to do so that benifited both.

Could this be the start of the Coalition of Asian States?

I think it just makes economic sense both ways. China is glutted with shaky dollars, and wants to spend spend spend while they are worth something. They just bought a humongous mine in Canada (Noranda) with billions of dollars cash. The biggest untold story in the world today is how shaky the dollar is, and how it's being challenged by the Euro and (when China decides to make it convertible) the Yuan. China is looking to buy 1,800 TONS of gold ASAP, while Western central banks are almost empty of gold, which has been covertly sold ("leased," hahaha) to prop up their faltering economies.

Thx for the pings!!Well as far as I see it,both the US(by still pandering to the Pakis & Saudis) & Russia(to Iran,Syria & co) are all putting their heads into the mud & it may take more than military might to get it out .

I am afraid it is going to ultimately lead to much more military action...world-wide.
