Kerry Says Bush Plan Could Lead to Draft

There is a "great potential of a draft" to replenish U.S. forces in Iraq (news - web sites) if President Bush (news - web sites) wins a second term, Democratic challenger John Kerry (news - web sites) said on a campaign stop in Iowa.

Bush said in the second presidential debate that there would be no revival of the military draft under any circumstances if he is re-elected. "We're not going to have a draft, period," the president said.

However, Kerry told The Des Moines Register, "With George Bush (news - web sites), the plan for Iraq is more of the same and the great potential of a draft." The interview was published Friday as Kerry was leaving for Wisconsin and a speech on the economy.

Need to counter this with Democrats in Congress introduced the bill proposing instituting the draft--the only danger in a new draft is in electing Democrats--period.
They are the ones who have pushed for it. They are the only ones saying it is likely to happen.

"Kerry Says Bush Plan Could Lead to Draft"

Someone please advise Skerry that all he has to do is get some flunky to close the door. Draft all gone.

He must have some flunkies around there somewhere.

What is it with Republicans? How is it that the Democrat candidate can say in three debates that he'll increase our military forces by 2 divisions and NO ONE questions (not the moderator, not McCain, not Hagel, not an ad) WHERE he'll get the people to enlist from? On top of all this, the only person running around talking about a draft and re-instituting it is/was Charles Rangel, and some how, A REPUBLICAN is accused of wanting to reinstitute a draft and it makes news. What is wrong with people?

Ya know, he may have a point. I mean, he served honorably in Vietnam and is a war hero, right? I'm sure he knows what he's talking about and has out interests at heart! < /sarcasm >

I am afraid that we'd be more likely to have a draft if Kerry is elected President. From my conversations with many of my friends still serving this great nation, the prevailing message is, they would seriously consider retiring or leaving the military if Kerry is elected.

Kerry and Edwards will say and do anything to be elected. Do citizens really want such dishonest and crude politicians?

"Kerry is leading the naive into a trap. He's opened a "hide out from the draft" shelter and invited the kids to come in."

Didn't the Jews do something like that across Europe? And didn't that wind up with the extermination of millions of them?

He's saying this because a Kerry presidency with DEFINITELY lead to a draft. Why? Think about it:

72% of the armed forces, according to a recent poll, support President Bush. If Kerry is elected, how many of that 72% do you think will re-up when the time comes? How do you think recruitment will go with an anti-military, blame-America-first t#rd like Kerry in the White House? Were I of age, I wouldn't enlist with such a person as CiC.

Ergo, Kerry = Draft.

Like every other commie, Kerry accuses he opposition of what he himself would do.

The whole issue of a Draft and/or the need for many more troops in Iraq have for some time now been only brought up by the Dem-wits. For more then a yr, from time to time some puke spewed it out to the MSM.

Personally, I think should sKerry get elected, there will be a draft, he may think he needs them. What he might have PLANned, could so piss off the side that owns Arms. That the side that doesn't, might feel the need of protection. Paranoid suckers that they are.

sKerry is!!!!!

I think this is grounds for the President to call a news conference to calm the fears of American moms and dads regarding this issue. In that same news conference he should define John Kerry as the fear-monger he is; trying to frighten American youth and breed anxiety among parents of young adults.

MR. PRESIDENT: IT'S TIME TO USE THE BULLY PULPIT.

Kerry is the one who wants to add 40,000 new active duty soldiers to the military.

How does he propose to do that, exactly?
Could it be... a draft..?

TOTALLY CORRECT.

If skerry gets elected, heaven forbid, he WILL have to reinstitute a draft, because most (I for one) in the military would get out. Not many would serve the military with him as POTUS.

As long as Bush is reelected, there won't be a draft because there won't be the need. People will serve in the military willingly, just as they did under Reagan.

Somebody one the news better start talking about 75 percent of the military support the President and 15 percent support Kerry if Kerry is elected many troops hate him so much they will get out immediately... some may even put down their arms ....some may even rise up.... and what will Kerry do about the mass exodus from the military in the middle of a war.... Well that can only have two outcomes ... one DRAFT... two... turn over our military to the UN... Neither one is good ..

What angers me is that Kerry brings this up, knowing it's a lie, but figuring that the people whom he appeals to are so frickin' stupid that they're not going to know any better. I detest these people!

An excerpt from Kerry and the sheep

"After watching the presidential campaign coverage for the last several months and the final debate last night, I have come to one conclusion: The American electorate is so full of sheep, that they’ll believe anything the liberal Democrats and the media feed them.

These sheep don’t look at campaign issues, they don’t separate the truth from the lies, and they ignore the flip-flops...

Finally, remember that sheep can no longer be considered cuddly – they’re dangerous to the future of the free world..."

I got my 20 yrs (to the day practically ) during Clinton's reign and I couldn't wait to get out. Leadership was at an all time low during those years. The NCO's had to have FOCUS GROUPS to make the right decisions.

How well I remember the poor morale during slick willie's reign. I had a tough time keeping my people focused on their tasks and the unit mission. We had to pinch pennies to get parts for the equipemnt.

A vital point to remember is that Clinton reduced the U.S. military by a little less than 50%, at a time when the U.S. military was all volunteer. Thus, if it becomes necessary to increase the size of the Army (the service most likely to need draftees) substantially, it should be easy to get all the volunteers that are required. Of course, as noted by other posters here, all bets on not needing a draft are off if Kerry's elected, since only a fool would volunteer to join a military which that traitor would sell out in a twinkling.

I sent an e-mail to Oliver North today asking him why John Kerry's traitorious, admitted war criminal past had not been up for debate at all in the election. The MSM have ignored the SBVTs and the media that have talked about it, have made so little noise that not #l question was asked about this at 3 debates. Kerry was asked not ONE FRIGGN question about his trips to Paris - the assisination meeting in Kansas City - how he forced people to lie during Winter Soldier hearings.

I ask North because he is in the media, a Marine Vet, and one time ran for political office. He also gets very upset when the subject is brought up on Fox or Hannity's radio show. Maybe if more or you guys would e-mail him, we could get him to see if he could really get this information to the general public before the election. What do you Think?
