As bad as Kerry's using Mary Cheney was I still think Elizabeth Edwards comment was more hurtful. How can a mother say that another mother is ashamed of their child? That was the lowest comment I have heard. It sounded like something DU would have posted.
These people Kerry, his wife, Edwards, his wife are the scum of the universe. Just like Bill Clinton has gotten his justice from the Lord with his bypass, that has changed him forever, the Lord will take care of these low life vermin.

she is a despicable human being. you would think that with her personal tragedies she could be a little more compassionate and sensitive towards another woman/family/.
no one can stand her; her rushing up to the stage to confront VP Cheney that 'yes he HAD already met her husband'..how transparent and stupidly shallow - like a little league mom yelling at the coach to play her kid...
plus, she is NOT easy to look at; now that we can't even say "well, maybe she's a nice person",...there's no reason to have anything to do with her.

Mrs. Edwards was completely beyond the pale. The women I work with were offended with Kerrey using another's kid to make a political hit. They were appaled and Mrs. Edwards. I think the 1-2 punch of scum and scummer probably cost the women's vote for the Dems, and thus the election.
I could be wrong, but women in my office who usually don't give a hoot about politics were shocked a ticked off about Kerrey and downright PO'd with Liz Edwards. The women I have talked to are much more vocal about this whole issue, even more ticked than the men....
You are so right. I won't forget it. What was so low about it was how she she praised Lynne Cheney then slapped her in the same sentence. I said it yesterday and I'll say it again, only a true, unadulterated, chronic bitch would dream up such a nasty comment. She showed her true colors very early.

I agree. Liz Edwards' remarks were deliberately cruel. Twisting the knife doesn't begin to describe it. Even more amazing, is how anyone with half a brain would even begin to think this strategy would work for them. She's driven the nail in Kerry and Edwards' ambitions. This is the sort of thing that resonates with undecided voters as they walk into that voting booth and decide which box to mark with an X.
