Right out of college I started my first stint in the health insurance field with the company that John MacArthur founded. He was still alive. With each application we secured, we were required to charge a $5 "application fee."

Since I was a newby, I was full of questions and other stuff and I asked the Manager how come I only got $4 of the 5 and he explained that the $1 always went directly to John MacArthur. That was how he never lost touch with what his entire field force was doing each day!

He and W. Clement Stone were quite the tycoons, along with many other successful insurance company founders around the turn of the century, a century ago. The would absolutely HATE what has been done with their fortunes these days!!!

I think they were all buried under Mt. St. Helens and are spinning in their graves so fast that it's making magma!!!
