You mentioned a good point: early voting. I'm going to vote early, too, and I think anybody who can do this should take advantage of it.
The camera is also important. I'm taking mine, too.
I remember some pub poll watchers that were told by dem lawyers they couldn't use a camera because it 'intimidated' voters(I guess so since the man voting had already voted earlier) and they made them stop. I have seen poll watchers in dangerous areas be yelled at and told they couldn't be there. The couple with the camera figured the 2 lawyers must know what they were talking about and left.
I think the training will be better this time around now that we know some of their tactics. I am so glad Texas is taking a proactive stance, but am concerned along with others that the swing states and those run by democrats will be the ones that matter. It seems the dems have their judges all picked out to give rulings that favor them even though they are against the law.
I hope so...of course, they seem to have spent the last four years refining their ways of causing mischief, so they've probably come up with truly unpredictable scams. I think you're right, though; it's very important for us to know what is legitimate for us to do, so they can't intimidate us and drive us away.
BUMP!
HOUSTON/TEXAS PING
Back when I lived in Tom Delay's district back in Texas, I both registered voters and worked the polls in my precinct. Texas always did this upright, I thought...a class act. I see they are still keeping the tradition going!
How conincidental ... I live in DeLays district and I'm working the polls on November 2. Anyone is welcomed to bring a camera into our polling place, as far as I am concerned. I was wondering if I should bring one in myself, in case someone started to try and claim that they were being "disinfranchised." It ought to be an interesting day.
Early voting begins today, October 18th and runs through the 29th. A list of voting locations for my area was in the Houston Chronicle yesterday.
