CRIMES OF EGO (another Kennedy makes an ass of himself)
NY POST ^ | WALTER OLSON

Posted on 10/17/2004 2:00:50 AM PDT by Liz

Two years ago, celebrity environmentalist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made himself a laughingstock from one end of Iowa to the other when he flew into that state to proclaim that large-scale hog farms are more of a threat to America than Osama bin Laden and his terrorists.

.....Des Moines Register editorial called his comments "idiotic" and "ridiculous."

But the wayward scion learned nothing from that episode. His volume knob still stuck at 10, Kennedy has now delivered himself of a whole book about the "Crimes Against Nature" (always crimes, never the result of mere differences of opinion) by which today's high officials are leading us "back to the Dark Ages" on environmental policy.

His villains, a long list, include the "sleazy scoundrels" of the Bush regime, business execs with "reptilian hearts," "crooked scientists" whose research fails to confirm his own notions and sinister policy experts who dabble in "the occult art of cost-benefit analysis."

There's a rich market for Bush-bashing books these days, but Kennedy's jackhammer style leaves one yearning for Michael Moore's suavity, Molly Ivins' balance and Paul Krugman's lightness of touch. If you find it novel and illuminating to compare today's highly placed Texans with Hitler and Mussolini, then RFK Jr.'s your man.

For those with even a passing interest in public policy, the book affords the fun of a pratfall on every page, most of them occasioned by Kennedy's epic self-righteousness and astounding disregard for conventional accuracy.

Thus we learn that air pollution is a cause of Down's Syndrome, that "study after study" shows small family farmers to be "far more efficient" than battery raisers of chicken, eggs and pork and that "automakers already have the technology" to make SUVs and minivans get the mileage of passenger cars, but don't do it because, well, because they're mean.

CRIMES AGAINST NATURE: HOW GEORGE W. BUSH AND HIS CORPORATE PALS ARE PLUNDERING THE COUNTRY AND HIJACKING OUR DEMOCRACYBY ROBERT F. KENNEDY, JR. HARPERCOLLINS, 256 PAGES, $21.95

And more: It seems there are "seven media giants that own or control virtually all of the United States' 2,000 TV stations, 11,000 radio stations and 11,000 newspapers and magazines," working hand in glove with the Bush White House (you know how CBS and the Times are always doing that). And did you know that the Bush people are secretly plotting to eliminate all federal environmental regulation within a year? Many of the "rollbacks" Kennedy cites, however, turn out to be refusals to expand the law, a rather different thing.

As for trade-offs at a time of $50/barrel oil — between warm homes and optimal caribou habitat, between underground coal mining (better for the landscape) and surface mining (kills a lot fewer miners) — Kennedy's usual practice is simply to ignore them. This helps in sustaining outrage, but does it really equip his readers to argue well for their cause? In a revealing turn of phrase, Kennedy complains his adversaries are allowed "to pretend that there is a genuine debate."

The man's lack of ironic self-awareness is a marvel. In his media-criticism chapter, he has the nerve to blast the press for its absorption with celebrity culture. Yet this book, like Kennedy's entire career, is nothing if not an artifact of that culture. It would never have been acquired by a major publisher, or sent out in quantity to bookstores or reviewed in this newspaper today, if its author's name were Robert F. Snicklethwaite, Jr.

Walter Olson is a Manhattan Institute senior fellow and the author of "The Rule of Lawyers." He edits Overlawyered.com.

It's hard to take a Leftist seriously when he champions gay marriage and then shrieks that Bush & crew are guilty of "crimes against nature"...

I don't know how to say it any more gently, but FVCK the KENNEDYS!

Grampa Joe was a criminal (bootlegger), who used these ill-gotten gains to finance his personal dreams of his children's upward social mobility. The rest of the family lives off of the investments from his (illegal) earnings and none of them has been worth a bucket of warm spit.

Who appointed these sorry-@ssed people as "American Royalty" anyway?

that "study after study" shows small family farmers to be "far more efficient" than battery raisers of chicken, eggs and pork

If they were then their prices would be lower and they would be kicking the competitions butt. doofus.

and that "automakers already have the technology" to make SUVs and minivans get the mileage of passenger cars, but don't do it because, well, because they're mean.

The way to do it is to make them out of aluminum foil, they would be dangerous and the lawsuits would put them out of business. Thats why they don't do it.

Victimization is a leftie's basic belief by which they blame and find others responsible for their own personal failures, then expect taxpayers, deep pocketed individuals, or the courts to bail them out. It feels good to be in the throes of "victimization" and either A) causing victims, B) concocting victims, C) playing victim, D) commiserating over victims, or E) creating another class of victims to bleed over.

A little more about old Joe... just an excerpt, but there is much more at the link.. I had NO idea..

Joseph Kennedy and the Jews

Arriving at London in early 1938, newly-appointed U.S. Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy took up quickly with another transplanted American. Viscountess Nancy Witcher Langhorne Astor assured Kennedy early in their friendship that he should not be put off by her pronounced and proud anti-Catholicism.

"I'm glad you are smart enough not to take my [views] personally," she wrote. Astor pointed out that she had a number of Roman Catholic friends - G.K. Chesterton among them - with whom she shared, if nothing else, a profound hatred for the Jewish race. Joe Kennedy, in turn, had always detested Jews generally, although he claimed several as friends individually. Indeed, Kennedy seems to have tolerated the occasional Jew in the same way Astor tolerated the occasional Catholic.

The Rest

Who knows? If they're still riding the JFK coattails they need to hop off. JFK cut taxes, launched a preemptive strike against Cuba, hated Communism, and said, "ask not what your country can do for you..." The Democrats would try to lynch him today.

If their claim to fame is as an "American dynasty" they can hang that up too. With claim to the Senate, the House of Representatives, United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, US Envoy to communist China, Vice President, President (twice), Governor of Texas, and Governor of Florida under their belts I'd say that the Bush family has them beat.

This has been my question for 29 yrs. The Kennedy's are mental midgets with power. skerry thing but, I guess it's an epidimic in the North East. If you have enough money(inherited or married) it doesn't matter how stupid you are, the media listens. I think America has a real problem, when the mainstream media looks at your checkbook before they decide you have the right to speak. Or as in the case of the Kennedy KLAN, because you had a relative that was Pres, and assasinated, you don't have to have a real job or even be half way intelligent to get the msm to give you a forum.

There are Robert Kennedy's all over. We have one right here in our area. We voted last year on a referendum to add another tax to our township. This one will be to cllect money to buy parcels of 50 acres and over so developers will not get them. We have a state and county program buying building rights for huge sums now. The farmer actually stays and farms but the building rights belong to the government, stste or county. Now the township wants to do the same thing only faster. They told us we will find out who is interested in selling building rights before anyone and will be able to do it quicker.

The vote failed and the Democrats are bringing it back again. This time they are bringing out all the outside land conservancy groups and money. We have a Kennedy type addressing the needs of our township and how important it is to keep people out. Preserve the nature and stop the schools from having to deal with more children. We voted it down. Now they are back in the presidential. The tax will be small they say. This will be on top of all other state, county and local. I do not trust the deals that will be made. I do not trust the conservancy. They took 100,000 dollars to plant flowers in the middle of a 4 lane highway and took $40,000 for design and whatever and had the scouts plant wildflowers. They lasted a year and we never saw another flower bloom. $100,000 grant? They are asking us to vote on a program to purchase buidling rights. The Democrats want our money to do it while the program already in under way via the county and the state. Some of the farmers are getting well over 1 million dollars for buidling rights. It is a good program for the state and county but highly suspicious for local Democrats to tax us again on it for a similar program

The kennedy, who was caught with heroin in his car while serving as assistant DA. Sentence= community service work. It must be nice to be a kennedy and above the law. (Democrat Justice For The Commie Elitists)

There you members of the VRWC go again!

Don't you realize how many Americans are harmed ...even killed every year by bad recreational drugs? The selfless young heir to the martyred saint's divine legacy, was laying his own precious life on the line in The Kennedy Family's own extensive Quality Control Program aimed at keeping bad drugs off the street.

It's the same with Ted, who ran the QC on the Kennedy Family Scotch and Cocaine Program, in which other Kennedys have actually lost their precious lives. Who can forget Ted's unselfish gestures in the cause of vehicle safety? The men of the family, and apparently one or two of the women, also are also continuously involved in monitoring the sharp rise in STDs.

Do you heartless Republican bastards, a group of fat-cat racists, who, as even the NYT documents "...have no compassion," think the Kennedys live lives of cakes and ale? O No, my Republican-duped friends, they are out there doing the hard and dangerous work that must be done every day to keep us safe and healthy.

Is this the thanks they get? Are all of you so blind that you do not see that the heirs of the martyred Saints John and Bobby, The Kennedys (and their designated heir, Mr. Heinz-Kerry, a prominent fellow Irish-Catholic elected official from their home state) live lives of total love for all of us little people? For friggin' shame on you!

Hannity brought this up in the one segment of H&C when he had Kennedy reduced to a pile of stammering, stuttering, blathering scum. It came out that Robert Kennedy Jr. in fact does less driving than probably most of us here. He uses limos and private jets for a lot of his travel.

An interesting study sometime would be to compare the Kennedy's per capita total of released greenhouse gases versus the average person. Somehow that's a study I don't think Kennedy and his wacko friends at Riverkeepers are going to commission.

Now lissen here, if Senator Ted Kennedy, who is already powered by ethanol, in yet another selfless energy-saving example to all consumers of excessive hydrocarbons, recommends a fellow Irishman, an elected officeholder from his own state of Massachusetts, it behooves all Freepers, no matter what their political affiliation, or the marital status of their parents, to take that information very very seriously.

The Freepers must go to the polls, and using our god -given right, vote according to our consciences and level of political acumen. If however, you actually live in the Bay State, prudence dictates that you get to that precinct on your own, rather than have Ted drive you. I also trust you will read the ballot more closely than you read my post.

But then, as Sen. Ted says, (he is, as you may recall the very brother himself of the Holy Martyrs, John and Bobby)"We'll cross that bridge when we come to it."

A word of advice, my young friend: Bringing up accurate, yet scurrilous reports is not the way to endear yourself to America's Royal Family. As soon as I find evidence of a poor family who actually received some home heating oil, you could be in big trouble.

Just how was young Robert (who, as you may know is related to the Holy Martyrs, Jack and Bobby) supposed to obtain the heroin he used in his Street Drugs Quality Control Program?

Just keep repeating to yourself, "What the Kennedys do, is selflessly done for love of us little people."

Seriously, we got a problem:

It does concern us ...but just peripherally...The Kennedy-Kerry thing is theater of the absurd at its worst...W and the gang over to the RNC have utterly (OK, well maybe not utterly, just largely) failed, IMHO, to make it clear to the voters. Sorta like I failed to make it clear to you ... for which I apologize ... and they ought to! I personally feel that W let Kerry up off the canvas in the debates, when he could have finished the fool off for good.

That attitude of the high and mighty as represented by the Kennedy-Camelot horsesheet and their protege, that Kerry Gigolo, who passed as an Irish-as-a-leprechaun Kennedy relative for years until outed as some sort of weird Czecho-Hebraic-BostonBrahmin-Catholic hybrid is no joke. The fact that the people of Massachusetts buy into the fake royalty act is sad as hell.

Sadder still is the possibility of Kerry of selling it to enough people to win the election in other states. Or getting it close enough to contest those states in court, which I believe is the plan.

Your apology also, is well accepted. I to am concerned about the actions of the KommieKerryKrowds when kerry loses. The DNC plan I believe is civil unrest by their minions throughout the country. If this happens martial law could be declared depending on the severity. Kerry would use this as a issue of the USA becoming a police state for his bane. I would also have to say it is a given that Kerry will try to use the court system(operation has already begun) to hi-jack the election results after Nov 2, 2004. We know jesse the race-card, al shafton and Ted "Jabba The Gut" Kennedy have their marching orders to enter this affray. I think as to the debates, President Bush took it easy on kerry because he wanted to save the best for last. I think more damaging information on komrade kerry is going to emerge shortly. The October surprise is on the rise and the frenchman's face is getting so tired and wrinkled/long. As to his roots, kerry is like a box of chocolates,(meataphorically speaking) as we reach into the box first we pull out an Irish man, next a jewish man, a french man and finally the "Real MCcoy" a liberal elitist communist coward viet nam war zero traitor. I know kerry has the ear of the brain dead in Ma. and the other malcontents in our country. We also see there are more Americans who love this country that far exceed kerry's crew. These are the real patriots who know what kerry's really stands for (nothing good and anti-american) They/Us/We will deliver this election to President Bush for it is the will of the Patriots Of America (US). Those cry babies who will scream voter disenfranchisement will say it every election for centuries to come. A point for us all to remember communism is still around and that is why we have Jf'n as their representative. In closing, Brother Kenny Bunk we will stay the course and victory will be America's and ours'. Vote Bush/Cheney 2004 Let's Roll!!!
