There's a very simple principle at work, IMO. If you think your candidate is going to win, you'll be more likely to vote than if you think your candidate's chances aren't too good. I believe this principle applies to all but the real die-hards on either side. I think Republicans' confidence in Bush slipped a little after even they noticed he didn't do too well in the first debate. But the second and third debates they thought he did well, so their confidence is restored. Confidence=motivation to vote. People like to be "on the bandwagon". If a so-called "undecided voter" thinks Bush will likely win, then they'll tend to vote for Bush. Plus, Republicans have consistently been more enthusiastic for their candidate than the Democrats. Enthusiastic is another way of saying "confident". Republicans will be more motivated to vote on Election day if this trend continues.
But a Democrat likely voter is not necessarily a registered voter. :)
It's Kerry 49, Bush 46 after massive Democrat voter fraud.
I hope we have those computers under control.........
;-)
Seriously, Kerry had a 'Dean Scream Moment' when he dragged Mary Cheney into the campaign at Debate # 3. His diabolical character exposed itself.
Kerry is a cold, empty, pretentious fool, and regular thinking people will see it. And I think that some interesting info will be coming forward on his military discharge as the old October surprise!
