Stone Tells Undecided Voters to Stay Home

SAN FRANCISCO - "South Park" co-creator Matt Stone has a message for all you undecided voters.
"Stay home," said Stone. "It doesn't matter who you're gonna vote for. If you really don't know who you're gonna vote for, or are uninformed, or haven't really thought about it? Just stay home."
Stone and Trey Parker have teamed up for the puppet parody "Team America: World Police," which debuted in third place at the box office this weekend with $12.3 million. A parody of 1980s action movies, the film ridicules both Democrats and Republicans.
In person, Stone has little patience for those on the political fence.
"If you really don't know or you're just going to vote for George Bush (news - web sites) because he's already in office, or you're gonna vote for John Kerry (news - web sites) because he's on the cover of Rolling Stone, don't do that. That's lame. Just stay home. That's all we ever said," Stone told the San Francisco Chronicle in Sunday's editions.

They're actually saying something intelligent - if you don't have a clue about the issues, you really shouldn't be voting. That's what ted nugent said about p diddy's stupid 'vote or die' campaign.

The American idea is to learn, educate yourself, and vote. Not sit on your can and do nothing.
It's a call to laziness. And ignorance.

That's fine. If you are not willing to do those things, then don't vote. Essentially that is what Matt is saying. Get educated, and if you are too lazy to do that, then don't vote. That's why I hate Motor Voter. If you are too lazy to go and register, you shouldn't be voting in the first place.
I guess there are morons outside of Hollywood, as well, because I totally agree with him. I have felt this way for a long time--if you are not going to be an informed voter, don't vote.

Exactly his point. If you're going to be a lazy slug and remain ignorant -- stay home.
Granted, we all agree education is important; Stone's pointing out that some folks will just never get there.

I've been saying this to EVERY "undecided" voter I come across...most of them give me that incredulous look I was hoping for...hehe.
Silly me. I've been working precincts trying to talk them into voting for Bush.

Suggesting someone go vote, if he or she has not done as you suggest, is a call to irresponsibility.
I'm not a fan of these two.
That said, they are right. If you don't care or are completely uneducated on the issues I think you should stay home. It's ridiculous that we are expected to pander to these people.
If everybody who knew they were a moron stayed home on election day, the world would be a far better place.
And the thing is, I practice what I preach. There are any number of piddly local elections or judge ratifications that I am simply not informed enough to vote wisely on. In such cases I don't go eeny meeny miney mo or look whose photo is more attractice and force myself to pick one, I just leave them blank.
