"Kinda wish he'd stop the "Mr. Limbaugh" line. Getting old."
I found it rather charming.

I was born and raised in Youngstown and while it's a Democratic stronghold, I wonder if there might be a little movement to President Bush there. While it's a very fiercely blue collar and pro-union, but the fact of the matter is that the area has been economically depressed beginning 30 years ago with the decline of the steel mills.
I also know there are a fair amount of Vietnam Veterans in northeastern Ohio/Western PA and I'm not sure if any post vote polls will get that specific, but I'd bet Kerry will get less votes statistically than he "should."
By the way, regarding the "Mr. Limbaugh", Mayor McKelvey is just an old school (although not old) respectful guy that wouldn't presume to call someone by their first name. I've met the Mayor on various occasions and he's a first class guy, although I must admit, he's being pilloried by many back home. He joins Senator Zell Miller and Mayor Ed Koch as people who vote their conscience and not party lines, something we need more of, one all sides.

Saw Kerry on Fox today. They aired him giving a speech. Boy, did he look awful, like he hadn't slept in a week. That was before I heard about the new polls. Wasn't surprised his face said it all. He's going down and he knows it. I'd say "Yippee" but I don't want to gloat.

"I don't agree with him about Kerry coming to town he wants to get out the vote...Bush is coming to Jacksonville Fl.Saturday and it will be over 60% Bush on election day..."
You took the word right off my post. Coming to the base to crank up the turnout is the NORM and not the deviation.

I live in central New York State. When Hillary Clinton was running for Senator there were many, many signs for Lazio, but none for her. Riding around I don't see any signs for President Bush and none for Kerry. In this neck of the woods you wouldn't even know there's a very important Presidential election coming up in a couple of weeks. Almost every car around here sports a yellow "Support Our Troops" metallic ribbon. And we are voting for President Bush in this household.

By the way,my parents are from Youngstown and are absolutely beside themselves that this Mayor would endorse Bush.I have been trying to tell my parents also that the Democratic party is not what it once was. They rely only on crap like Cbs,Abc,nightline etc....to educate themselves in politics so they are very skewed.
I totally relate. My parents are 80 year old Michigan dems who are still living with the dem party of old. On a bright note...mom reluctantly cast her absentee ballot for GWB the other day...dad went for Kerry but he is a vet...still hates bush41...and has serious dementia. Atleast they cancelled each others votes out.
BTW...I'm in central Ohio and I think GWB will do fine here. Kerry is in panic mode!

This is the state where Kerry is making his "last stand". I hope Bush spends at least most of the last two weeks in the state, and for goodness sakes he shouldn't be taking a breather on the final weekend the way he did in 2000.

Where are people getting those metallic ribbons? I've been seeing them all over town! I've also seen ones that have red, white, and blue, with stars. I'd like to get one; but they look like they are painted, or stenciled on. And I'm afraid they might be expensive to put on!
