USA Today praises 'Ashley's Story'

You've probably seen the moving photo of President Bush hugging Ohio teen Ashley Faulkner, whose mother died in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. NewsMax.com and other media nationwide ran the famous picture.

Now she is helping the president by appearing in "Ashley's Story," a TV commercial released by Progress for America Voter Fund." In the ad Ashley's father, Lynn Faulkner, says, "My wife, Wendy, was murdered by terrorists on September 11th." Go here to see Ashley's story: www.ashleysstory.com "In a year when voters in key states have been inundated with political commercials, the ad stands out because it is so different from most other ads," USA Today reported. "It neither attacks anyone nor runs down a list of issues or promises."

The newspaper noted that "most polls show that voters think Bush is a warmer person than his opponent. The ad is meant to reinforce that feeling in voters' minds."

Never in my life has a political campaingn ad brought tears to my eyes, but this one did. If you've not seen it, as of yet, do so now and then e-mail it to any family members or acquaintances, who might be leaning toward sKerry.

Though I haven't seen the "wolf" ad yet, Ashley's Story is my favorite out of the Bush/Cheney campaign thus far. It's enough to melt ya.....

The question is whether "Ashley's Story" will move the electorate. From the reactions that I've read, it most likely will.

They showed it on O'Reilly yesterday after the ad that Kerry did.

The "Ashley" commercial made me cry and had my heart sinking into my shoes. I am serious. I went to bed depressed.

The one Kerry is promoting made me angry. There wasn't even any real substance to it to explain WHY she was voting for Kerry. Sad.

I remember when this occured.

I was so moved, I saved the image of the embrace.

The more people who view this, the better.

Our President is great, great man.

I agree this ad is a winner among so much negativity. Much better than the Wolves ad.

O'Reiley really loved that ad and so did Dick Morris. O'R said BC'04 should run that ad 24/7 until election day.

Great ad !

On another note, can someone tell me what is up with georgewbush.com? It's been down since yesterday? Have I missed something?

Was just there, and I've been there several times over the past day. No problem with the Bush website on my end.

Ashley's Story is my favorite ad.

I like 'negative', issue, and humorous ads as much as anyone but this one is truly different.

Warm, genuine, it speaks to the heart. "Child of God" telling the world the truth about this man's soul.

Ever since that photo was released with the President hugging her, it's never left my mind. It leaves an impression.

The best part is this is not just an ad...it is a real moment that actually took place and shows the REAL MAN in the White House. Gods knows we need him for 4 more years!

I've seen it four times so far today here in Florida. I believe it will carry the state for Bush. It is so honest and direct - very powerful.

USA Today praising Ashley's story? What's going on? Did I just see a pig flying by my window?

Ashley's Story was not put out by the Bush-Cheney campaign. It was put out by a 527 organization.

Had Bush-Cheney put it out, you'd hear the RATs screaming from the top of mountains - "Bush takes advantage of teen 9/11 victim".
