Polls Show Bush Stronger Than In 2000 (Coming DU Humiliation, Meltdown: 10 Days, and Counting)
Washington Times ^ | 10/23/04 | Joseph Curl

President Bush has moved ahead of Sen. John Kerry in three states won in 2000 by former Vice President Al Gore, and is statistically tied in three others, putting him in a better position than he was in four years ago.

But the president is in trouble in Ohio, which he won in the 2000 election, and may need to pick up some states that went to Mr. Gore in order to win the election.

Mr. Bush has pulled ahead of the margin of error in Iowa and now leads Mr. Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee, 51 percent to 45 percent, according to a Survey USA poll of 690 likely voters released Thursday. In the previous poll by the survey group, the Massachusetts senator led 48 percent to 47 percent.

I think Bush will win Ohio, narrowly.

When Arnold comes it's all over.

They don't need Arnold in every state.. Rove knows that.. Just one.

Every network and cable news channel will carry his speech, and it'll lift all boats everywhere.

I think the Dems October Surprise is failing miserable too.

Their October Surprise was to jack up the price of oil so high, just to piss off the entire country and send the stock market crashing. Remember the meeting of liberal billionaires (Including Soros) a while back.. There's no doubt they were thinking of the best possible way to hurt Bush, and think this is it.

I don't think they've succeeded. Despite an unbearable $55/barrel, the market is still hesistant to go down... I have a strong suspicion that Wall Street knows what is going on. They know the price of barrel is being jacked up and it's not hard to figure out why. The world oil situation did not get that BAD that quickly. There were far worse situations with Venezuela's exporting problems in the past, and it never skyrocketed oil to anywhere near this point. And Demand did not just come out of nowhere. Demand is a long-term rising indicator but it doesn't spike out of the blue.

The market knows it's being manipulated. If this were real manipulation, the market would be tumbling because profits are being toasted by $55/barrel. They are on high suspicion that something is going on too, and they are not biting completely, because as soon as the election is over, the chickens are going to come home to roost, and oil will tumble and we'll be back above 10000 within a week or two.

This doesn't mean were out of the woods yet.. I expect them to go right after the market tomorrow and try to scare it into some big drops.. I'm fully expecting a 300-400 point drop next Thursday or Friday.

This is the Dems October Surprise.

Without it, they lose.

Kerry will take all the battleground states and win in a landslide. The Democrats haven't been registering all those phoney names you've been reading about for nothing you know.

I'm not worried about winning in a free and fair election.

The Dems and libs are cheating, knowingly and willingly.

Agreed - the economy is being F'd with. This election cannot get over soon enough, assuming the correct victor (Bush). A lot of the problems right now in the economy and the terror war were specifically created to unseat Bush. That is why those attempts must fail by the hand of the American voter.

I think you are on to something. It is possible that the oil markets have been manipulated by some large players like Soros. If so, if the oil market falls, he will stand to lose.

One of them...strategic vision or Mason Dixon just showed President Bush up in Ohio yesterday. But I agree that Ohio is all over the place lately. Still though, I think President Bush will take Ohio.

Ohio just sent back 35,000 voter registration cards form the dims for bad addresses, no addresses, I'm sure there were also more Mary Poppins and Dick Tracy's in there. My sister and my wife, both Republicans to the max, were getting worried about all these new voter registrations awhile back. I kept telling them not to worry about that. I knew where they were getting most of them from and I knew that what they were getting was garbage...exactly like we are seeing now.

Plus in Ohio, the word is getting out that there will be challengers....this will keep some of those that are registered illegally away, because name is a valid challenge.

If I'm not on solid legal footing (just generally), I'm not going to walk into a polling place on false registrations and take a chance on making my everyday situation a little bit worse.

These are just a few of the reasons that I think most of these new registrations aren't going to turn into Kerry votes.

Bush can't talk about it and virtually no commenators mention it either...not even on Fox News, but some time ago I think it was George Will who pointed out that Bush could lose the presidency because the idiot Republican Governor of Ohio (another stupid member of the Taft family) voted to RAISE taxes (I think he ran on a platform promising not to, but I'm not sure). This ran business out of Ohio. Even when John Kasich talks on his Fox show he fails to mention that the current governor loused up the Ohio economy, unlike another Ohio governor that Kasich cited....James Rhodes, who was reelected for four terms precisely because he made jobs his number one concern and made sure that Ohio was hospitable to business. The rust belt states would do well to look south at union free, low tax states, and LEARN SOMETHING.

Fraud won't be more than 2% to 3%. Anything more would be too obvious. They can't afford to get caught red handed.

Just days before the 2000 election, polling found Mr. Bush trailed Mr. Gore by one point in Iowa; by three in Minnesota and Pennsylvania; and by six in both Michigan and Wisconsin. The two were tied 45-45 in New Mexico.

What polling?

Anyway the comparison favors us, whatever the polling the author is referring to. The trend remains our friend.

I stay with my recent prediction, fully conditioned and broad enough to drive a liberal livery though, Bush wins: 269 to 296. I know I am being a crazy optimist on the upside but that is what being a conservative means.

2% to 3% is enough to swing this election, and the Democrats don't care about getting caught red handed, they only care about winning.

I'm in Ohio. I'm going to have my well informed vote cancelled out by dummies! I tell them the economy is in great shape and growing, it does no good. I tell them our enemies or being captured and destroyed that we have not been attacked at home in over 3 years, it does no good. I tell them America by far insources vastly more jobs than is outsourced, it does no good. I tell them AMERICA IS NOT A SOUP LINE! It does no good. HELP! The liberals and Kerry are going to align themselves with the UN anti-American socialist tyrants eventually we will have to fall back within our borders and fortify America against the world. All because they have intentionally poorly educated people in Ohio so they will be be easily propagandized into voting Democrat. God be with us!

What's the good of registering people as Mary Poppings? Nobody is going to have ID saying they are Mary Poppins and if they are they will be busted. A lot of this nonsense is people just making up names to get paid per voter registration card.

Well, then I'm going to buy all those stocks I have been studying.

I know my broker thought I was a vulture after the market opened for the first time after 911, but I bought and bought lots.

I'm happy I bought INTC when it freefalled last month. So, make the gazillionaires unhappy. If you have it and you know it, buy a stock.

Hank, we will have to fortify against each other, just as my gradfather did. Unfortunately, Ohio falls outside of the old Confederacy and probably will fall outside our orbit after the next cycle. Anyway, it does not matter, immigration is settling the issue against us. All will be lost after Florida succumbs, then Texas, and you will be lucky to be able to play defense in the Senate.

We have to win this one for our kids physical survival, but the long term prospect for conservatism, and thus for the Republic, is not good. Even if we win this most important election since 1980, it is July 3, 1863.
