The killer would be WMDs found or tracked to Syria/Iran/Lebanon with conclusive proof. That would be the end of Kerry. Close second would be conclusive proof of Saddam and UBL link.... hopeful!

A little noticed open letter to John Kerry from the former head of the VVAW was posted a few days ago. Surprisingly it included many of the Swift Vet claims of trumped up Nam experience and narcissistic behavior. It also included a claim of collaboration with the enemy. IIRC, Kerry has denied any substantive contact with the North Vietnamese. If true and if this guy has documentation and has found a way to get it into friendly hands, it could be devastating.

Which major U.S. newspaper has no Sunday edition?

(USAToday funny-paper doesn't count.)

If a paper has a Sunday edition, that is where it would run a blockbuster story.

Kerry doesn't have a foreign policy and hasn't for over 20 years.

I heard a priceless moment of talk radio last night.
Host John Ziegler was taking calls from Kerry supporters and asking them
why they support Kerry. (www.kfi640.com)

He got one fairly haughty lady caller (some sort of Bostonian/European accent?) and
Ziegler asked her "Kerry says he has a plan for Iraq. Please tell me exactly
what Kerry's plan is?"

At least 5 to 15 seconds of dead air ensued.
And the lady didn't even try to enunciate "Kerry's Plan".

A lot of them aren't even Americans. But American or not, the vast majority of them HATE America.

IMO, that is credible. Staffers really run the government and they hear everything.

It may well be that Kerry THINKS his back door negotiations w/Syria will make him seem like an ace diplomat, but just as many will see it as treason or else just plain playing into the hands of the terrorists.

Could this be why all the flak catchers are in meltdown mode?

Be prepared for a big time trashing of WaTi/FNC/WSJ and the *right wing media*, in general. Legacy media will play this as Kerry the super diplomat and play up Indyk's State Department credentials while making his last post (Israel) somehow proof of the very opposite that it is.

Also, this is the sort of thing that will go right over the heads of the electorate, since it will be spun to a fair-thee-well by the NYT and the alphabets.

Of course, recall that this information has been on FR for awhile, now.

Hopefully there is some angle uncovered by WaTi that we are not aware of.

IMO, it may change some inside the Beltway votes, but I doubt it. AFAIK, there is a huge split in DC between the containment vs the pre-emption policies and it is complicated by clientitis. A former State Department staffer with whom I am not speaking until after the election (and perhaps not even then) has nevertheless been bombarding me with all sorts of contradictory *inside* info on our posture towards Iran, for a couple of months. I know the source of his info inside State and his motivation is to change my support from W to not voting, so I have just not responded. He is frantic today and has so far sent 3 separate articles accompanied by his interpretation. This crap varies from we are making accommodations w/Iran to Iran is going to nuke us and it is W's fault to Iran supports Bush as proof of our foreign policy being a tissue of lies.

While I think there is some panic on the left, I suspect the TPs are already printed and distributed and all the real players are already briefed.

Could this be what we were waiting for?

What I'm waiting for is Bush actually earning conservative votes.

His record as a free-spending, Big Stupid Government liberal is pitiful, and zero commitments have been extracted from him to mend his ways.

So if he slides back into his job, I expect more of the same. Which sucks, bigtime.

I agree. 60% of the American people wouldn't even know that Syria is a country, much less where it is,,,,,and why it matters. That wouldn't make a 'hill of beans' worth of difference at this point. Plus, the media would spin it in any direction the democrats want.

Anyway, I'd be willing to bet that most Americans (and 95% of democrats) think that Syria is what you put on your French Toast or waffles.

Well, that fits what we have been thinking that the Men in Black need to be called in because Kerry looks like an alien in and 'Edgar suit'.

I am not very good at this so if you can clean up this, we can add it to the mix.
