Decision Iraq
The Washington Post ^ | Sunday, October 24, 2004 | Bob Woodward

Posted on 10/24/2004 6:40:06 PM PDT by PJBlogger

On Sept. 1, Kerry began his intense criticism of Bush's decisions in the Iraq war, saying "I would've done almost everything differently." A few days later, I provided the Kerry campaign with a list of 22 possible questions based entirely on Bush's actions leading up to the war and how Kerry might have responded in the same situations. The senator and his campaign have since decided not to do the interview, though his advisers say Kerry would have strong and compelling answers.

Because the interview did not occur, it is not possible to do the side-by-side comparison of Bush's record and Kerry's answers that I had envisioned.

In a 3 1/2 hr. no holds barred interview,President Bush answered every question posed by Woodward. Kerry refuses. He can run,but he cannot hide.

"Kerry would have strong and compelling answers."

Kerry can't even face reporters, how would he face terrorists. He wants his face in the limelight just as long as he doesn't have to face the fire.

Lots of facts and quotes about the president-wannabe at the John F. Kerry Timeline.

I just read this on another forum and wondered why Woodward was publishing this.

To show Kerry wouldn't answer hard questions?

Or to give Kerry a chance to answer questions while on the campaign trail without having to face hard follow-up questions?

Did you notice Woodward didn't have anything negative about Kerry declining the interview? If Bush had declined an interview with him he'd want a congressional hearing to investigate WHY?

Woodward don't even know the right questions to ask...
Hes a democrat don't ya know.. If he had any sense he would NOT be a democrat.. Hes not up to his eyes in slime like Chris Matthews ot Larry O'Donnel.
He's only up to his neck in it. But they all swim in same drain field.

The ONLY thing "strong and compelling" about Kerry, is the stench of his treasonous behavior....

Kerry is worse that an empty suit, he is a enemy in Senator's garb..

Kerry has already said his plan was to have a summit. Wasn't any point in him sitting through those 22 questions for him to just repeat what everybody already knows.

I could think of at least 22 questions that Woody should ask Kerry regarding his questionable military activities and probable violations of the UCMJ from 1971 to about 1985, then jumping to 1991.

Question #1 would be "Could you put your signature on a Form 180 please?".

Question #2 would be "Based on the UCMJ how can you be in the running for President?".

"Did you notice Woodward didn't have anything negative about Kerry declining the interview?"

I think that unless somebody needs to be whacked up along the head with a stick that the import of this lack of comment is self-evident. Sometimes it's better to say nothing at all.
