The NYT, like CBS, is not a credible news source.

Let's see, we take over two countries in less than two years, losing less than 2000 troops in the process, and have elections in both within 4 years of the event precipitating those invasions, and this is worse than the Russian Afghani quagmire...how?

How about a NYT story: "What The Establishment Media Has In Mind"?

When I read the authors' credits at the end of the article, and realized that one of them was a "counter-terrorism expert" during the Clinton regime. That description, in itself, is quite a contradiction. Did anyone know Clintoon had counter-terrorism experts on his staff? Who would have known? There was certainly no indication.

Apparently some towns/cities in W IRaq may have to be flattened to make the case. If not now then it will have to be done later in Pakistan.

It's unfortunate, but will likely have to be done.

This can continue until we elect to use the "great equalizers" we have at our disposal; and when, necessarily, collateral damage and civilian casualties become secondary to victory, just as it has been in every war in which we have been on the winnng side. Otherwise the damp dreams of the jihadists will come true.

How long will MSM keep trying to prop up this "quagmire" lie?

I did not read the whole article, because I am sick and tired of "counter-terror" experts" with no more information than we have...no access to top secret info... lambast the President decisions that involve much more than tactics. Mr. Bush is balancing WAR with foreign relations while battling the most self-serving liar in the history of politics. In my opinion, it is our fault for not slapping the pi$$ out of these Baffoons when we pass them in the street.
This guy may be the best tactician in this world, but the bottom line is... he don't know $h1t without battlefield Intel.

"Daniel Benjamin, a director for counterterrorism on the National Security Council staff under President Bill Clinton..."

Two words: Jamie Gorelick.

Well, better add a few more: China, campaign cash, missile technoogy, wall of separation, coverup. Clinton & Democrat Party treason comes back to haunt us.

The New York Times was instrumental in creating this terrorism disaster by covering up and carrying the water for the sleazebag Bill Clinton and his treasonous Democrat Party. Now they innocently sit back and whine and try to blame others. It's not going to work. People are paying attention.

Radicals who were downcast and perplexed in 2002 about the rapid defeat of the Taliban in Afghanistan now feel exuberant about the global situation and, above all, the events in Iraq.

i guess they like getting their butts kicked closer to home in stead of traveling to america to carry on acts of terror and getting caught

Hint to the author of this screed, at the Slimes - don't invest in real estate in Falujah in the near future.

Second hint - spend lots of time there, real soon, assessing your future investment options. ;)

The writers of this article have a point to share with us. We are at war with muslim terrorists. Duh we get it. But there are some aspects some of us don't get. So I will elaborate.

Recall we had to drop nukes on Japan to get their attention? But then did you notice we didn't have to drop nukes on Germany to get their attention? Why? I guess the Germans figured it out all own their own.

SA needs a wake up call. Everyone knows SA funds terrorism. Hello, fifteen of the nineteen who attacked us on 911 were from SA. At the same time, everyone knows SA provides oil for the world's economy which also happens to keep America moving. So it's hands off SA at this juncture regardless how many of us they kill. This must be amended.

We should demand President Bush or whoever is President to advise the SA's that the next time America is attacked by their seed, Mecca for starters is toast...

Until I hear these words uttered by our Commander in Chief, I'll have no confidence in him/her no matter who they are or what they say regarding the war on terror. I want SA to pay for what they did to us on 911. And I want them to be reminded over and over that we know what they did be it directly and indirectly regarding 911.

To date, and from all the rhetoric I can gather, neither Bush nor Kerry has the balls to stand up to SA...I guess it's the economy stupid! Too bad America, we lose either way...since it's apparent neither candidate is willing to challenge must less point the finger at SA...where SA just happens to be the capital of Islam...you all realize Mecca is in SA right?

So folks ask yourself, if extremist Catholics were terrorizing the world as extremist Muslims are today, where should we look? Should we give Rome (the capital of Catholism) a look? Or should we merely ignore Rome and go to say New England where there is a large gathering of Catholics? Surely you can get the picture can't you?

I get it. Can I be alone? Is it just me out here all alone?
Am I wrong?
