Count Tom Daschle as one more politician who, when he loses or retires, has absolutely no intention of going back home to the "sticks." He's got DC fever and will likely will die in his Foxhall Road bed in Northwest Washington some 30 years from now. After the good people of South Dakota kick his sorry butt out of office he may stay in DC, but I bet his wife's income takes a nosedive when her credentials only include the "wife of an ex-senator".
