Red Sox pitching ace Curt Schilling will accompany President George W. Bush to his campaign stops in Manchester and Portsmouth on Friday.
The Union Leader has learned Schilling will appear with Bush at rallies at the Verizon Wireless Arena and at the Pease International Tradeport.
Schilling urged viewers to vote for Bush on ABCs Good Morning America program yesterday morning. The Bush campaign then quickly invited him to join the President in his final campaign visit to the Granite State, sources said. Schilling gladly accepted.
It is unclear if Schilling will be wearing his now-legendary bloody sock, which came to symbolize the Red Sox dramatic run to their first World Series title in 86 years. But dont be surprised if he waves it to the crowd, or if the crowd waves mock bloody socks at him in appreciation of his courageous pitching performances during the playoffs and World Series.
Schilling made the unexpected endorsement of the President on the ABC program just as he and his wife, Shonda, wrapped up an interview with host Charles Gibson.
And make sure you tell everybody to vote, Schilling said Gibson, and vote Bush next week.
Democratic Presidential challenger John Kerry will make a visit to New Hampshire on Sunday. Details have yet to be announced.

I missed GMA, what did Gibson do when Schilling endorsed Bush in front of the whole country?? Anyone see it?
HELLS YEAH!
It's on now...Excellent move
Fantastic...
Real Men want W re-elected!
YES!....
Unwritten Here: Kerry campaign frantically looking for anyone in the Red Sox clubhouse to agree to be seen on the same stage with him...cue the crickets.
Secondhand info, I heard he babbled incoherently. He didn't know what to say. I didn't see it myself.
He stammered a bit and then muttered something like "something else to divide the country"...what a tool...
Schilling has the WS sock in a special place to auction off for his Curt's Pitch for ALS charity. The Yankee game sock was disposed of.
I hear Manny Ortiz is available...
is "manny ortiz" going to campaign with kerry ?
Why should any of them appear with Kerry...Kerry made it clear he would prefer his victory rather than theirs, if given the choice.
Regards, Ivan
Yeahhhhh!!! Go Curt.... he not only has a good pitch, he has the stones to back GW - what a sweet 'slap' for their Mass. sen sKerry... life is good!
After the Sox were down 3-0 to the Yankees, I'm willing to believe Mass is in play, with Schilling's help.
Sweet baby! I love the Bosox, Schilling, and President Bush. I want to win N.H. Go Sox!
LOL...wow....same thought...same time
I thought the Hall of Fame was asking for the sock?
