IF convicted murderers should not be put to death, but instead receive a life sentence—shouldn’t innocent unborn babies also receive a life sentence?

Get this...My younger brother is a PhD from MIT...he argues that what is in the womb is equivalent to different stages of evolution. In other words what is growing inside a women is just a fish in the early stages then progresses to a cat, then a dog, then towards the end a monkey, until finally at the moment of birth it has evolved to a human being. I've heard this same thought from other well know and respected PhDs(I say that lightly since they are respected only by those with similar opinions). At first I thought this was sarcasm in light of the science vs religion theme. But when question further, he really believes this to be true, deeply true. What are they teaching young minds at these universities? No wonder they can abort babies without a conscience. In their view they've only aborted a few fish or mammals, but not human beings. What idiots...

Your brother is using "faith" not science to hold that belief. What is fact is that the chromosomes from sperm and egg COMBINE to form a new Human Being = nothing else.

The same people who hold the "hope" of cure from embryonic stem cell research, refuse to accept the truth that an entire human being's makeup is contained in this union by fertilization.

The power of the content of these new genes, DNA, etc to form an entire person is why they cannot be reprogrammed in a lab to do what scientists "hope" they can do.

This is why venture capitalists are not interested in offering "charity" to scientists to work with embryonic stem cells.

Point out to your brother how secularism is just another religion, with tenets of faith, hope and charity. Watch him pause, if he is a thoughtful person.

Just remembered the old PhD line, Piled How Deep? Are his eye's brown yet?

MIT...Mind in Transit

It's my guess your brother is still going to school or is teaching. Once these kind of folks are exposed to the real world they lose their "audience" and only serve to be family rebel-rousers.

Unfortunately, our son is in the same category. He almost brought his father to tears the other evening. He thought it was pretty funny, and his only goal was to rattle his father soul.

IMHO, these "kids" need to get a life, or a chimpanzee for companionship.

I have...Scary thing is he knows that. He just believes that faith in man is greater than faith in something he can't see.

But the point I'm making is this is what's at stake in this election (and well beyond it). We pour billions of research dollars into these institutions. MIT, Harvard, etc... It's about time that we not only cut off federal funding for the likes of planned parenthood, but also educational organizations teaching this kind of perverse logic. Roe v Wade is the Dred Scott of this century. Liberals devalued life in the 1800s, they devalue life today...the evil transcends time and carries the same message.

"It's my guess your brother is still going to school or is teaching. "

No worse - he's living off his girlfriends. No job, just thinks that everybody needs to bow to his superior intellect (which is the real illusion MIT teaches). He spends his time doing the same things your son has done; Tears others down so that he can feel built up.

If a girl is raped and her baby aborted at any stage of pregnancy, they will take the DNA of the "fetus" (baby) to try and identify the perp.

They aren't holding the DNA of a fish, cat, or a monkey. They are holding the DNA of a human being.

That's the only argument I can think of for "PhD" types. Truth.
