Thanks for the ping.

What do you know about Professor Beito? How long has he been at the U of A? I'm not surprised that 60 Minutes would fail to tell the facts in this case. I would like to see documentation. And, I guess in 60 Minutes' case, we would need to see authentication of the documentation.

Just to add to what you said, CBS is bringing up the Emmett Till case only to try to jimmie up the black vote for Nov. 2.

That may very well be true. CBS certainly has an axe to grind with the Republicans.

However, I would add that we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that the FBI (i.e. the Bush administration) is investigating this case. One of the misleading things about the 60 Minutes report is that it failed to give credit to the Aschroft-led DOJ for its investigation. Instead, CBS gave a bunch of airtime to the obnoxious Chuck Schumer and made it look like HE was the driving force behind this investigation.

okay. okay. I promise no more posts on this topic. ;-)

But first, check this out:

***************

Local and Proud

[Famed Mississippi Rapper David] Banner's Instant Classics

In addition to Banner promoting Mississippi pride to the world via his music, he is also pushing his state by wearing it on his back, and he wants you to wear it, too. He’s launching a new clothing line called Banner Classics, which includes a line of throwback jerseys that can be seen on his hit videos, “Like a Pimp” and “Cadillac on 22s.”

“The reason why I decided to do the Banner Classics Line wasn’t because I wanted to do it,” Banner says. “It was something that came out of necessity. My people, Mississippi, was spending money buying jerseys with just about every state in the union (on them) but Mississippi. The fact that we didn’t have a pro team that represented the whole state inspired me to do my own clothing line.”

Although Banner’s line is just getting off the ground, he plans to promote even more Mississippi-themed gear to the mainstream public, including jerseys dedicated to the memory of Emmett Till, the 14-year-old Chicago boy lynched by white men in Money, Miss., in 1955. Banner wants to expand his line to the level of Nelly’s Vokal or Sean Puffy Combs’ Sean John line.

“Right now we’re just concentrating on the Mississippi Pimps jerseys,” Banner says.” But we have plans to expand the line into bigger and better things. I’m hoping that Banner Classics becomes the next big thing in clothing lines.”

Can I do a shirt over Beth Henley's ancient mom...killed in Woodland Hills for her caddy.

Or how about stoner former DJ Wayne Harrison (whom I knew) killed over by Millsaps for a dime bag?

I could go on and on but why.

However....hip hop doofusses should buy their apparel local....I think that's a good idea...why give it to Puffuss, or Kani, or FUBU or WTF.

For the record....i am all for putting the boy's killers in the joint where they belong...who wouldn't be?

But Ed Bradley???....Oliver Stone or Spike the Racist will be there next.

Fact is outside of Jackson and other area's Soweto-Kingston crime/war zones.....and the rampant local corruption the likes of which have never been seen.....blacks and peckerwoods get on rather well in the deep South despite the best efforts of Spike, Al, Abe, Morris, and Hollywood and the media.

I grew up knowing some prominant blacks like Charlie Evers (whom I like...a rogue but likable and saavy) and even a few of Jackson's first crop of black councilmen/women and I will tell anyone who gives a shite that the first time I ever knew that a lot of black youth weren't too cottony to my skin hue was on the IRT subway in Manhattan in 80 up in the pointy fingered north. (np if she sees that will beat me over the head ...I apologize in advance)

I had never seen blacks with surly glares like that...course everyone has a sort of surly glare on the subway but you get my point.

I have said this ad nauseum....the blacks who were victimized by whites back up until the 60s were not nearly as angry or resentful as the youngbloods of today. That was created and nurtured by our enemies (the domestic ones..not El Turban Turd)

I am here in Vicksburg just as happy as can be.
I've not spotted any racism and I have been out
and about and riding around with black cab drivers
who could not be nicer.

I have a Clinton BeSeuer sign in my front yard and on my
street there is not ONE Kerry/Edwards sign! I picked the
right neighborhood. There's only ONE Bennie Thompson sign
but that's in a yard on the other end of my street. The
other signs are LeSeuer's.

I like your remark about Ed Bradley, wardaddy. I sort
of wish I could have seen the sham of a "report."
I wonder when the day will come when yankees and democrat
blacks will leave Mississippi alone. We're doing fine here.
I want the aforementioned to stay the hell out of here.

LOL!
Just try to persuade 'em.
If that fails, tell 'em off.
You'll feel better. :)

It's absolutely gorgeous here.
So green and the weather is warm
(unseasonably warm) but the days
are like CA summer days USED to be.

I just love it here.
Very happy.

I just got to your ping.
I am very glad that you are so happy.
I hope everything is going well.
Good to see you.

BTW, I'm not surprised that there's
not one Kedwards sign.
That's not "done" in Mississippi. ;o)
But, Bennie has GOT to go.
I know you'll do your part.

LOL....make that two severely injured trial lawyers and one whupped neurologist.

Myself, the Vandy Engineering Professor, and a sane Lawyer shall triumph over the appeasers!

We'll have the 95 year old Seventh Day Adventist kick em once we've got them down.

Should be great entertainment for the kids aside from bobbing for apples..lol

(seriesly....with only two exceptions, I'm cordial with the clueless)

I remember Wayne. He worked at BeBop when I was in H.S. Nice guy but a total freakin' cokehead.

It's interesting how the killings you mentioned play down here. When whites get killed by blacks, people just treat it as a fact of life (which it is not) and shrug it off. Contrast this to the comparatively rare killings of blacks by whites. These killings are treated by almost everyone, especially the media and the usual cast of race-hustling liberals, as indisputable evidence of racism.

You make some good points about the anger among today's black youths and its connection to the poison of liberalism. Liberalism has made almost everyone angry as h-ll, from metalheads and Chomskyites to gansta rappers and Deaniacs. Liberalism can even make people who have never had an ounce of pain in their lives or history bitter exceedingly bitter and resentful. Heck, this country is loaded up with ultra-liberal WASPy trust-fund beneficiaries who think Bush is Satan's stepchild for all of the 'evils' he has visited upon the prisoners at Gitmo. It's just downright crazy.
