Okay he was young not dumb when you were young i bet you did the same thing everyone makes mistakes and just because of that he didnt deserve that no one does and as a white man today, if you did that to a black girl you dont think they will do that to you, you cant talk in till you walk around in some ones shoes and jumped into there skin then you tell me if you think that was okay

Of course Emmett Till didn't deserve to be killed. All he deserved was: "You can leave my store until you come back with a civil tongue in your head."
His murders were sick and evil people and it is a travesty of justice that the did not receive the full punishment they so richly deserved.
But that still doesn't make Emmett Till a hero.
James Chaney was a hero of the Civil Rights Movement for knowingly risking his life for a noble cause.
Emmett Till was a victim of a brutal, unconscionable crime, not a hero.
