Is a "general" discharge also considered an "other than honorable" discharge ??

From what I've heard, there are only 2 kinds of discharges for officers, honorable and not (probably general, not sure). And also from what I've heard, you have to be a really big screw-up to get the latter (probably Kerry's Viet Cong activities). If this is true, Kerry is in deep trouble.

I think a general discharge under honorable conditions can be issued. If the discharge was less than honorable conditions, that's pretty bad. Chances are whatever his first discharge really was, it didn't tell the whole story and was probably more generous than it should have been.
