Muslims cite betrayal by Bush

Polls show many of them who voted for him in 2000 will not be doing so in '04

A poll conducted by Zogby International for Georgetown University's Muslims in the American Public Square, or Project MAPS, found that by a margin of 76 percent to 7 percent, Muslims are backing Kerry over Bush.

"That shift was a surprise for us. Even in 2000, they gave their vote overwhelmingly to George Bush," said Zahid Bukhari, director of Project MAPS. "Muslims are not only changing their voting preferences but also their party identification."

Some Muslims have the perception that they are not welcome, said Ghulam Bombaywala, who heads the Pakistani-American Association of Greater Houston.

"This is our home and yet we feel we are not wanted here," said Bombaywala, a Republican who still plans to vote for Bush this year.

It doesn't matter how they cast their ballot, he said, as long as South Asians vote in record numbers this year.

"We are really encouraging people to vote," he said. "I believe that this year, more Muslims and Pakistanis will vote than ever before. It's our right, we need to participate."

Perhaps they should offer their prayers to their God when women and children are beheaded. I am speaking of Algeria.

But the same is true for any country these animals operate in.

Yeah, they have it tough...

Saudi Arabia - Conversion by a Muslim to another religion is punishable by death. Bibles are illegal. Churches are illegal.

Yemen - Bans proselytizing by non-Muslims and forbids conversions. The Government does not allow the building of new non-Muslim places of worship.

Kuwait - Registration and licensing of religious groups. Members of religions not sanctioned in the Koran may not build places of worship. Prohibits organized religious education for religions other than Islam.

Egypt -Islam is the official state religion and primary source of legislation. Accordingly, religious practices that conflict with Islamic law are prohibited. Muslims may face legal problems if they convert to another faith. Requires non-Muslims to obtain what is now a presidential decree to build a place of worship.

Algeria - The law prohibits public assembly for purposes of practicing a faith other than Islam. Non-Islamic proselytizing is illegal, and the Government restricts the importation of non-Islamic literature for distribution.

Jordan - Has the death penalty for any Muslim selling land to a Jew.

"Some Muslims have the perception that they are not welcome"

If you think sharia law and beheading people is a good thing you're right you're not welcome. Please leave.

Betrayal requires first a bond of trust, loyalty, and honor.

This may be true, but polls have showed that Bush has closed the gap on the black and women votes. Today's Fox News/Opinion Dynamics showed Bush just 4% behind Kerry in the women vote while Gore, I believe, had a much larger lead in 2000.

This shouldn't be much of a surprise since we're fighting "their people".

AMEN to that, my friend.

Human civilization had better wake up quick and get as serious about its survival as the seventh-century savages are about our annihilation!

Not only do they think our President is the enemy, but they also think YOU are the enemy, and wen they get the power, they will give you the choice of a prayer rug or a coffin.

This is a fight to the death between Islam and human civilization!
