Osama bin Laden, the man President Bush vowed to capture "dead or alive," tossed a bombshell into the deadheat U.S. presidential campaign on Friday in a video address to the American people which some political analysts said could actually help Bush.
Bin Laden, in his first video in more than a year, threatened new attacks on the United States.
"Despite entering the fourth year after Sept. 11, Bush is still deceiving you and hiding the truth from you and therefore the reasons are still there to repeat what happened," he said.
Political analysts contacted by Reuters were still trying to digest the effect on the race with only four days to go until Election Day next Tuesday and Bush tied with Democrat John Kerry in the polls.
None thought it would persuade a large number of voters one way or another but with the race this close, even a small movement could be decisive.
"My visceral reaction is that it could hurt Kerry. I don't think the American people will take kindly to Osama bin Laden stepping into our election," said St. Louis University political scientist Joel Goldstein.
"It's an unfortunate 11th hour diversion but it reminds people of the terrorist threat and that's Bush's strong point," Goldstein said.

Bin Laden's taped plea should remind everyone that we need to elect Kerry so we can have Federalized Medical Care, Gay Marriage, and a UN-led future.

I still can't make any sense out of this statement. After all, AQ had been planning 9/11 while Clinton was still in office. What does Bush have to do with "the reasons" since OBL didn't even have him in mind when he put the plan together?
Leaves me with just one conclusion - regardless of who the American prez is, Binny has no reasons other than to kill Americans. And that, probably not for "religious" reasons - but simply to feed his ego.
Osama came out with the tape at this time in order to get Americans to vote for Bush. Osama needs Bush to motivate his terrorists and recruit new ones.
It makes me ill to see Osama again. Alive and well. When I want him dead and in hell where he belongs. But I think him showing his face actually helps our President. It will remind the rats that he's still alive and well and there's still evil in the world to conquer and win. We will win this war and our beloved "W" will win another term as POTUS!

My constant prayer is that justice against all who betrayed this country for power will be swift and decisive in this election. As for the terrorists, hunt them down and kill them.

The sad part is, Bush would win big even without this tape. But I think the appearance of Dr. Evil (a.k.a. Bin Laden) will probably push him over the 54 million mark that I predicted initially.
