I've thought that for a long time, but the fact that Kerry could even put a nominal campaign together shows the long road ahead of us. Kerry is an abysmal candidate, a threat to this nation, but could actually win. How that man could pick up more than 15% is scary indeed.
And thank God for the "new media", we'd be toast as a nation without it.

The big hump in the boa constrictor graph of population is the boomer generation passing through. In the 1950s and '60s they were near the head. Now the hump is approaching the tail. The newly voting age citizens are reacting to the pressure of these lefties on their lives by becoming conserviatives in larger measure than ever before, for that age cohort.
These conservative leaning voters have a whole lifetime of political activity ahead of them, while the ponytailed and bra-burning anti-US-victory activists are fading into the sunset.
My wife may have finally decided to vote for Bush based on this incident. Mothers are smart enough to know that the president has no magic power in this situation, but they do have the power to remain calm and reassuring in the presence of children.
