Would be more believable if these guys were from say Oklahoma, land of those SOONERS.
The photos they posted look very strange to me....

1. Mr. Wes Hare was part of the The Rebuild-the-Bunkers Program? What's he doing hanging out in a weapons storage area?
2. Mr. Kuhaida must have some pretty extraordinary skills to identify ordance after it's been exploded! Maybe he should volunteer his services to the Army.
Duh?? .. of course they are ... they are more knowledgeable then General Sanchez /s >
Especially when the "munitions" are just bullets and other ammo, not explosives that can be used to detonate a nuke. Obfuscating the issue.
Yes, this gets really funny if you remember when saddam was passing out those guns to citizens in Baghdad just before the war. And I would think that ''aid workers'' would be the type of people who would reserve their ''outrage'' for other things like, say, saddam dismissing all the kiddoes from school & then stacking the schoolhouse floor to ceiling w/ ammo... But, oh no, it's big old bad General Sanchez' & George Bush's fault for not guarding all 10,000 of the munitions dumps in the first 20 minutes of the war.
All great questions that should have been asked by KGW, the AP and the Oregonian.
you cant get any more politically tone deaf than F'n kerry.
Exactly. The MSM is really milking this story as much as they can. Pathetic!!

Nah--those danged sneaky Sooners would have loaded up all the weapons, hightailed it across the border & never said a peep about it. :-)
There were almost 10,000 munitions dumps in Iraq, and some were quite large. If we put an average of 50 troops at each site to guard them from day one... that would be 500,000 troops. On top of that, they would need logistical support. We would also need hundreds of trucks and support machinery to cart all this stuff off to somewhere to destroy it. In other words, it would have been impossible to secure all the sites at once, and destroy all the munitions in a reasonable time frame. The fact that we have secured about half the munitions (400,000 tons) is pretty amazing.
What I don't understand is... why didn't we just drop a daisy cutter or a few 2000 lb. bombs on each site and be done with it? I'm sure someone out there with expertise in the destruction of munitions has the answer to this.
The official, "who declined to be identified"
That's enough for me. No gonads, will not reveal himself or records, ala sKerry.
Must be a partisan twisted 'rat.

Jerry Kuhaida, the former mayor of Oak Ridge, Tennessee
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - Jerry Kuhaida says he was eager to go to Iraq and take a job as a contractor helping local governments.
But months later, the former Oak Ridge mayor says he was even more eager to get out of that troubled country, which he says is descending into chaos and likely civil war.
Frustrated by a maze of bureaucracy, stymied by cultural roadblocks and embittered by what he calls a total lack of postwar planning by the United States, Kuhaida said he left when it became obvious that things were becoming more and more dangerous.

'soldiers of fortune,' May 19 Halliburton action
April 17, 2004
There was no plan at all after the war," said Jerry Kuhaida, who worked as a subcontractor with RTI from September 4, 2003 to March 12, 2004. "In spite of what (U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald) Rumsfeld said, there was absolutely no plan. The whole thing was running on a whim, basically. There wasnt even a bad plan out there. What few accomplishments there were, were fluffed up, he said. "We kept getting pressure to make reports look as positive as possible. (Contractor tells why he left Iraq. Scripps Howard News Service. April 5, 2004)
"..among the supporters awaiting Avery was Rocie Carballo-Graver of the Peace and Justice Committee of the Community Church, Chapel Hill, and WILPF, who said that she was there to provide "moral support for the parents" and "show that people do care." For Wes Hare, another supporter, "what happened was an atrocity" that happened because of "abuse of power" by the Israelis.."

I heard that OKIEDOC. How about them SOONERS???
One of these winners happens to be from TN, where I live now. I did a search and he lives in Oak Ridge, TN. Probably all that radiation in the air around there made him stupid.
For those that don't know, Oak Ridge is where they made the bomb grade material that went into the first atomic bombs.
Some leftists doing what they do best, lie thru their teeth to pick up some brownie points....
That is probable.
The Oregonian, and all the State of Oregon's media, is centered in Portland Oregon... the home of Arab Islamist terror mosques on the West Coast.
It should not surprise anyone that ANY Oregonian article is anti George Bush, as that paper along with most all of the entire city government, multnomah county and Portland's political environs would push an anti President Bush agenda.
despite that, there is a GREAT chance that the rest of the state and the rest of us that have had it up to our asses with Vera Katz's sh@t and Former Governor Fishhaber, and the previous Child Molestor Governor... and their drug adelpated psychopants...
WILL vote BUSH into our electoral column.
I hope the liberal greenies and homoactivists all commit hari kari or jump off the Broadway bridge when they lose this upcoming election... and their precious multinomah COUNTY income tax...
I hope they all take the swim, in "protest".
What? Left-wingers in Oregon, my home state? Tell me it ain't so, Joe!
Now, as Peggy Noonan said, "What's the computer key for needless sarcasm?" (Not an accurate quote, but true enough!)
