Yes, it will. As much as I want the Republicans to prevail Tuesday and forever one just has to accept Divine Providence. Look at the AWB, I was distressed and saddened when it passed. But, by the Lord's Divine Providence, what did that situation - seemingly terrible for the side of Right and Truth - end up leading to?
1. The 1994 Republican takeover of Congress, which included by Clinton's own admission, the loss of some two dozen Democrat house seats because of the bill's passage (not to mention the first defeat of a House Speaker, Foley, in about 160 years), which led to,
2. The eventual Republican control of Congress (slim as the Senate is), and,
3. The expiry of the AWB some six or seven weeks before this election. When Bush wins the fact that the AWB expired (with him doing nothing to stop its expiry!) and Kerry came back to vote to try to extend it will be seen as crucial, pivotal, significant reasons for the Republican victory.
So, should the unmentionable happen, we will survive and prevail and in the end win.
FYI To: USSPN National and State Apostolic Teams Dear Prayer Warriors:
The following letter and call to prayer is very important for us at this time. Remember, the Lord told Joshua to prepare the people three days before it was time to cross over. I believe this call along with the email from Jim Chosa will give us a clear focus to pray for the future of our nation. Be sure to vote and cast your lot righteously. Read Joshua 1-6.
******************* October 28, 2004 Dear Friends,
Up until now the Holy Spirit has not led me to issue a call to prayer for this years elections, as I did in 2000 (others have done so and many are praying). That began to change this morning as I sensed clearly that the warfare over this election went to another levelbig time! As it was in 2000, it is an all-out war in the spirit realm for the soul of this nation and I sense in my spirit that we have not yet broken through into victory. If we lose this warand make no mistake, we can lose it if at any point we yield to apathy, overconfidence, weariness, or anything else that might cause us to not finish wellthe results will be devastating.
Do not make the fatal mistake of laying the results of this election solely on the will and sovereignty of God. As He did in 2000, God is requiring a partnership with the praying church in order for righteousness to prevail. We must not allow a faulty theology that simply says we have asked God to intervene, the rest is up to Him to give us a false sense of security. Sometimes asking is all that is necessary, sometimes not. In this battle it absolutely is not. Just as when Israel did not possess Canaan, and also when Jerusalem missed a visitation from Heaven in Christs day, Gods will alone will not decide this election (Hebrews 3:18-19; Luke 19:44). In 1963 we forfeited Gods will by removing His influence from our schools; in 1973 we missed Gods will by allowing abortion to be legalized. And make no mistake about it, our lack of action at this point in time can cause us to miss Gods will and send us spiraling downward again.
We must move into spiritual warfare now as never before. There is a persistence that must be exercised, striking the ground until complete victory is assured (2 Kings 13:14-19). By those who understand the principles of spiritual warfare, there is a kingdom force that must be employed in the spirit until the powers of darkness yield to the forces of light (Daniel 10:12-14; Matthew 11:12; Ephesians 6:12). There is a binding and loosing that must occur until confusion reigns in the enemys camp (Matthew 16:18-19). The kingdom rule and will of God must be released in intercession and declaration until Heavens desires prevail on earth (Matthew 6:10).
Dont let up. Intensify! The next 3 days will determine the fate of America for decadesmaybe forever. Also, I believe the purposes of God in many nations are at stake, not the least of which is a great harvest of souls around the world.
Take some radical steps. I am changing my schedule and going to Washington DC for the next 3 days in order to pray in the way I believe the Lord is leading me. Though this is not practical for most of you, here are some suggestions for the final 3 days leading up to this election:
1. Fast. Some are already fasting; I am asking for thousands more to join them. Ask God to lead you as to what kind of fast, and use wisdom concerning medical factors.
2. Join together in prayer meetings and prayer services: the prayer of agreement is powerfuluse it.
· Turn Sunday school classes into prayer meetings.
· Take time in Sunday services this week for prayer.
· Have special prayer services Saturday, Sunday, or Monday nights.
· Move home/cell groups to Saturday, Sunday, or Monday nights and devote them to prayer.
· Do prayer conference calls with friends and prayer partners.
3. Get up earlier than usual and pray before beginning other activities.
4. If possible, do a night watchget up through the night and pray; or pull an all nighter if you feel the strength to do so.
5. Pray Isaiah 22:22!
6. Send this prayer alert to every praying Christian that you know. Please give it to your pastor far enough in advance of Sundays services so that he can plan.
Finally, this is not a partisan issue; it is simply a righteousness issue. God must have a man in office who seeks His face. If all of us do our part, we will prevail in this election and see America take another turn toward righteousness and revival. For His Cause,
Thank you. That was very helpful
Many of us are already praying and fasting. Thread here:

on board.....
Thanks for the ping! I had planned on a 2-3 day fast, starting Monday a.m., see how great minds etc...;-D
Welcome aboard!
I will definitely fast and pray on Monday, but we should remember that sometimes God's plan doesn't allow for our prayers to be answered. After all, Jesus prayed that if it was possible, this cup should pass from him-- but it wasn't possible, of course.
That said, I do think God wants George W. Bush to win, and in a landslide. ;) Let's get His help!
Wonderful idea, will do!
BTTT
Reminder Bump!
I too am hypoglycemic. My blood sugar crashes if I am more than an hour late for a meal or don't eat protein with my breakfast. My suggestion? skip a meal instead of the day and spend meal time in prayer. A fast can be just one meal, you know. And drink ice water, that will help stave off the hunger pangs. If you are still worried, it is enough that you just pray.
Thanks for the idea of skipping just one meal, I know I can do that. As for drinking ice water, I do that all day every day.
count me in as well
I am so honored to be fasting with you, my sister!!! We shall be together in spirit.

Re your tag line, is that in the Bible? Does it mean I don't have to pray to Mary or confess sins to a priest? Can I pray directly to God through Jesus?
1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Jesus Christ.
That is what the resurrection was about and the meaning of the "new covenant" which gives us direct access to God through a personal relationship with Jesus. Jesus fulfilled the old covenant which required access to God through a priest and sacrifices. Jesus is now our High Priest:
Hebrews 3:1
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.
Take care, vg
SC:
You can also just give up something. I have given up all desserts and candy and sweet junk for the last week. Tommorrow, however, I will probably do a juice fast.
You could also do what Daniel did in the Bible...only veggies.
