Couldn't figure out how to get taxes from him.

Are you kidding?! He can't live there, that land belongs to the
government!
Besides, he was growing pot plants which he was probably selling to children. The guy was obviously a menace!

These were my thoughts exactly.

A very wealthy 80-year-old man went to his doctor for his annual checkup.
The doctor asks him how he's feeling.
The 80 year-old said, "I've never felt better. I have an 18-year-old bride
who is pregnant with my child. What do you think about that?"
The doctor then begins, "I have a friend who is an avid hunter and never
misses. Once in a hurry, he accidentally picked up his umbrella instead of
his gun. When he got to the creek, he saw a prime beaver sitting beside
the stream of water. He raised his umbrella and went, 'Bang, bang.' and the
beaver fell over dead. What do you think of that?"
The 80-year-old said, "I'd say somebody else shot that beaver."
The doctor replied....."My point exactly."

Um. Trespassing? Let him buy his own cave somewhere if he doesn't want to be hassled.

I would say he was squatting on Government land, growing illegal marijuana, with intent to distribute, and not paying any taxes. How else could he afford all the luxury items that he had, such as the glass door, wood stove, solar panels, wiring and other needed hardware. This may seem like a simple story of innocence, but it's not. This man is a hardened criminal taking advantage of young children. He deserves a real cave, in solitary confinement for his criminal behavior. This man deserves some hard times busting rocks at a state penitentiary for 10 - 20 years to mend his life of crime and child abuse.
