TEL-AVIV, October 30 (Itar-Tass) - Palestinian leader Yaser Arafat, who was taken violently ill earlier this week, might have been affected by a slow-action poison, Israeli Army radio said quoting unnamed Palestinian sources.
While taking a course of treatment in France, Arafat will have tests to identify the presence of poison in his blood.
Investigation has been launched into the activity of everyone who had access to Arafats meals, the radio said.
Let the games begin.
AIDS is a slow acting poison like virus.
It's the poison of his own character finally manifesting itself in its proper place.
Give the cook a raise!!
Could be that he's old and his body is worn out...
I was waiting for "the joos did it" conspiracy theory.
"might be affected by a slow-action poison"
A pity, I would have used strichnyne {if I could spell it}.
Whatever it is, let's go already. There's a special place in hell for people like him and I, for one, am eager for him to go there.
"Slow-acting poison"?
How do we quicken the pace?? And make it more painful?
:-) Cool!
A slow acting poison...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...what fun. The only good terrorist is a dead one.
I would have to assume Arafat is near death and there needs to be a handy excuse why the leader of the PLO would actually die of anything less than a martyrs death
Of course some poor slob PLO underling will die a painful and horrible death whoever gets blamed for poisoning their fearless leader.
It's called AIDS
Dang right, age is a slow acting poison. And time is relative and slowness is but a blink of eye.
Years ago I read a fascinating book on the poisoning of Napolean. It was done by one of his aides de camp who put the poison, arsenic, I think, in his wine. Slow arsenic poison imitates other ailments which, when treated with the medicines of the day, caused a horrible death. They used the hair which was always saved when his hair was cut.
> ... Israeli Army radio said ...
I had expected the Palis to make this claim even before
Arafat was evacuated.
If Arafat dies, they may yet attempt to blame Israel,
and they can expect the cooperation of the French in
hiding the actual cause of death.
But if the poison story is actually true, it's as apt
to be internal palace intrigue as an external plot.
This slow acting poison- some call it life.
