Not completely true. They are blaming the Pentagon for wasting money on pork projects. As much as I hate to agree with them, the pork projects they mentioned should be cut.
CBS has a very dire reputation. Their bias is well known and even publicized. No one that isn't already an ardent Kerry supporter will be shocked by this and I strongly believe that anyone who is watching this and is in the so-called middle will have also seen the debates where Bush hammered repeatedly at how Kerry had voted against the suplimental. I don't think of this as a hit-piece well executed but rather something that can easily backside Kerry as well with the common thinking man. Will the media represent this angle? Of course not but people still KNOW.
Call them up on Monday morning. You will get through. Ask them - politely - the same thing you raised here. Tell them you thought journalists covered all sides of an issue. You won't get anywhere with them, but they will have to concede your point.
