"I'm a broken-glass Republican, I'll crawl over broken glass to go vote,"

Hmm...put me down for that, too.

There are now 84,000 registered Democrats in the county, compared with 67,500 Republicans.

Yes, but how many are living?

We'll actually have a good number of Dems in our corner this time around. Help make it happen:

Democrats for Bush Flyer -- Print it, copy it, distribute it

"Between them they have built a new model army for the ground war, along the lines of an American corporate sales model, known as multi-level marketing. It sounds intricate, but is basically a pyramid scheme in which every recruit is set not only production goals but quotas for finding new recruits. Discipline and commitment produce an ever-expanding self-perpetuating network."

You might be unaware, but the Guardian insulted us twice, just in this paragraph. "New model army" was what Oliver Cromwell called his troops
( http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/STUmodelarmy.htm )in the English Civil War of the 1600's (Cromwell was the leader of the Puritans or "religious right" forces) and multi-level marketing or "pyramid schemes" are dirty words in the UK, much more so than here. Typical of the Guardian.

I've been working on the Bush campaign in Charleston WV one or two evenings per week since last February, every evening last week, both days this weekend, and I am taking vacation leave to work on the campaign Monday and Tuesday. And the nice thing is, there are other volunteers who put in even more hours than I do. I've got no idea how motivated the RATs are, but here in WV we seem to have an army of broken-glass Republicans.

Just remember folks, VOTE no matter what happens, because we have LOTS of Republican candidates who are counting on us in every city!

What would you call someone like me, a Republican in Washington DC, the only State or psuedo-state never to give it's electoral votes to a Republican?

"Spectator"?.

"Across Pennsylvania, the number of Democrats has risen by 267,000 since 2000, the number of registered Republicans has risen by only 155,000."

Nice of the democrats to reveal exactly how many bogus votes they plan on stuffing into ballot boxes.

. In the end, half a million more people voted for Mr Gore than Mr Bush, who was saved only by the quirks of the electoral system.
*****
This is irritating. If Bush were aiming for popular vote. he'd be in the big cities, states. Electoral Collage isn't a quirk, its the Supreme Law of the land.
