According to this link:

http://www.september11victims.com/september11victims/COUNTRY_CITIZENSHIP.htm

67 were British citizens or about 2.3% of all those killed that day on US soil.

70 British soldiers have died in Iraq so far (based on the latest information I could find) and therefore they have taken about 6.5% of the losses fighting the war so far.

Her Royal Highness would be smart to remember who saved her father's gonads from the fire in WW II and stifle herself. A constitutional monarch is a paper tiger and from the few people I am in contact with in the UK think the royal family has become no more than a glorified PR venture and would be more than happy to fire them. One of my favorite comments from them was, "The royal family is nothing but trailer trash with a better address."

Ivan, Ivan, don't be Mad, or bristle at every poster who reacts with indignation about news from the UK.

I'm an Anglophile of the first order, having spent 1.5 years working in and touring the UK. I even payed my own way back for a vacation since.

You probably had similar reactions as these indignant posters when Prince Charles decided that he was an expert commentator on architecture in 1992. He had a point, though, about some of the buildings he panned. Like, what was Lloyd's of London thinking?

Tell you what. If you will try to ignore the indignant posts of every ignorant, unthinking freeper, I'll try to ignore the Royal family whenever they feel it necessary to bestow their opinions on the world. By the way, I see this bit from the Queen as the personal opinion of a major land owner after a bad year for agriculture, not as a statement of policy by a head of state.

Wine is produced in England even today. Grapes don't really need year-round warm weather to thrive. If Germany can make wines, so can England.

George Washington to King George III. Butt out.

George W. to Queen Elizabeth II (and Queens Phillip and Charles): Bugger out.

We were the ones attacked.

Yes you were the ones that were attacked, but were are members of NATO, I draw your attention to article five of the treaty:

The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all....

Unlike the French we take our treaty obligations seriously.

The Queen's main duty is "Protector of the Faith" and what has recently been coming out of that "church" of England lately shows a good reason why the Almighty might not show favor on her "environment". Signing on to one of man's treaties is not going to help her estates.

Not only is wine again being produced in England, it's wine of excellent quality. Particularly the sparkling whites, which have beaten vintage champagnes in recent blind tastings.

" said one of Britain's leading experts on climate change, who spoke to the newspaper on condition of anonymity."

Isn't this ringing alarm bells with any of you? "An anonymous source said to an Australian newsaper that ..."

I don't believe we wanted to be constrained by Nato going into a hot war. To be tied down by the politics of the organization.
