Iran Lawmakers Vow 'Death to America' with Nuke Vote

Lawmakers in Iran shouted "Death to America" on Sunday as they voted unanimously to resume enriching uranium at the country's Bushehr nuclear facility.

Parliament speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel said Sunday's vote is a "message for the outside world is that the parliament won't give in to coercion," in quotes picked up by the Associated Press.

European nations have offered to provide nuclear fuel and technology if Tehran reins in its ambitions to develop its own fuel - a position supported by presidential hopeful John Kerry.

"If we are engaging with Iranians in an effort to reach this great bargain, and in fact this is a bluff that they are trying to develop nuclear weapons capability, then we know that our European friends will stand with us," Kerry told the Washington Post in August.

But while the Iranian government insists that the Bushehr facility is for peaceful energy production, the "Death to America" chants from legislators seemed to undermine that claim.

Despite the incendiary rhetoric, Iran's top nuclear negotiator Hossein Mousavian said there was a 50-percent chance that some sort of compromise could be reached.

Though Bushehr's enrichment operation was no longer negotiable, he said Iran might consider calling a halt to building more nuclear facilities.

They have rockets in Lebanon aimed at Israel if anyone strikes Iran. Lots of them. I think Israel would have bombed them sooner if it wasn't for that.

I think Iran will have their "power plant" for about two more weeks. As soon as the election is resolved the Pres will resolve this as well. Can you say "MOAB" or Bunker Busters." Those can sure liven up your day.

I pray that you are correct, otherwise we will have another Hitler on our hands. Every day we wait will make it that much harder to later.
