LANSING, Mich. - Some Michigan voters have received phone calls falsely claiming that Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) would make gay marriage legal, Kerry's Michigan campaign said Monday.
Both Kerry and his running mate, Sen. John Edwards (news - web sites) of North Carolina, oppose gay marriage and say marriage should be limited to a man and a woman. Kerry has said he supports civil unions.
In a recording of a phone call played for The Associated Press, a young woman says: "When you vote this Tuesday remember to legalize gay marriage by supporting John Kerry. We need John Kerry in order to make gay marriage legal for our city. Gay marriage is a right we all want. It's a basic Democrat principle. It's time to move forward and be progressive. Without John Kerry, George Bush (news - web sites) will stop gay marriage. That's why we need Kerry. So Tuesday, stand up for gay marriage by supporting John Kerry."

Kerry and Edwards secret plan revealed to become gay wedding planners in Mass. after thier tuesday election defeat. Kerry said it was the least he could do to buttress the tragic unemployment numbers he has touted during his re election bid. sources also reveal a plan still to be implimented by Kerry to inject risen into Heinz Ketchup bottles and drop them via UN supply drop to the mountainous region between pakistan and afganistan. This surely will be a pro active war on terroism he has the means to deploy....the contingency plan for this is to supplement the ketchup delivery with a number of gin laced raisins to render the taliban usless until they complete a 12 step program for raisinholics........developing
Funny they don't mention the heavily Republican part of Pennsylvania where seniors are being told that there's a problem with their registration and not to bother show up to vote. Just was on Rush.
In 1996, when John Kerry was one of the few U.S. senators to oppose the antigay federal Defense of Marriage Act, he wrote for The Advocate a passionate column on the civil rights struggle for gay and lesbian equality. That article is reprinted here.By Sen. John F. Kerry
Translation:
"Both Kerry and his running mate, Sen. John Edwards oppose gay marriage in their own bedrooms and say marriage should be limited to a man and a woman, unless a judge, somewhere, anywhere, wants to rule it unconstitutional and that's just fine with them because the pro-gay-marriage people have purchased their silence with big money and furthermore, if a judge wants to re-define words like "marriage" or "freedom" or "liberty" or "is," so what? Isn't that why we have judges?
Welcome to FR.
"I have my view and my view is my view. I can't tell you in 20 years or whenever, if someone made a persuasive argument, the world changes...So I don't predict the future.
Translation, if George Soros would only propose to Kerry, he'd have a new sugar daddy.
There are ads running in Florida right now by Kerry/Edwards that claim that "George W. Bush is against equal pay for women." Talk about a misleading ad. And these are NOT from some 527 group - they have John Kerry at the end saying he approved the message.
Anyone who has seen videos or images of the beheadings of Americans and others in Iraq knows how horrific this act is. John Kerry knows that Americans behead people, too, and testified to that fact under oath in Senate hearings. American courts have not tried and punished our citizens who commit these atrocities. That's why we need John Kerry for president. He supports joining the International Criminal Court, so Americans can be tried internationally instead of in American courts. America might be able to act unilaterally in the future, but if we do so, our service personnel will have to face international criminal charges. I suggest that anyone who agrees with this idea--which has support from major nations like France--vote for John Kerry in the upcoming election.
John Kerry and John Edwards have indicated they're willing to take the bold steps necessary to put America back into its place in the world, not having us remain arrogantly sovereign!
The authors of the bill mistakenly claim that Congress has the authority to allow one state to ignore a legally recognized marriage in another. But the U.S. Constitution is unequivocal on this point: Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State.
We will win this fight for civil rights.
What is this that he will win? This is the right for homosexuals to have their marriage recognized in all states. How is this not advocating same-sex marriage?
Kerry is a liar. I have no doubt hell flip-flop again.
You nailed it. Tyrants in black robes.
